The printer probably talks to hplip, which is available on Linux, but not on MacOS.
Web development in North Germany, for a small agency. We mainly work with WordPress and Typo3, which is used by the government, clinics and other "bigger" institutions a lot here.
I actually like PHP (most people seem to hate it :D), so it's a good job.
Don't need Windows anymore, thanks to Proton. Bless Lord Gaben.
That looks like even the mould has mould growing on it.
I like how this is basically just a love letter to Linux and one of the best "advertisements" for people out there who are still stuck on Windows and closed-source software.
The thing that made me really mad is that Sony released the PSVR2, but removed support for playing 3D BluRay's from the PS5. The higher resolution would've been so amazing, but the PS4 is the last model that can do it.
Whyyyy?
I have an L390 Yoga (i7) and these feet are indeed way too large.
The device is painful to use even with the correct feet, though - at least if you're using Windows. It's constantly overheating, because the cooling system is just reused from the L380 and can't handle the heat of my i7 8565U processor. But hey - at least the marketing people were able to put "4.6GHz" into the specs.
I have to undervolt the CPU to make it run cool and prevent thermal throttling, which is not possible anymore if you're running a current Windows version.
That thing is probably the last Thinkpad I've ever bought, to be honest.
Also, if you’re wondering what that port with network symbol is, it appears to be a proprietary connector used on ThinkPads requiring an “Ethernet Extension” adapter to be usable.
Yup, the port is called "MicroLAN" and the adapter was 30-50€ back when the device was new. It's of poor quality (the rubber of the cable on mine is turning into a sticky mess) and entirely passive.
Lenovo must've looked at Apple's accessory profits and thought they wanted to make money off of crap, too.
Sehr gut.
I met a girl in art school and lost track of her for a few years. During the pandemic we found each other again. He was trans now, identified as a male and had massive anxiety and body-image related problems.
It was so bad, that he stayed at home for weeks, only ordered food and basic needs online and got an instant panic attack when leaving the house.
I dragged him out to various events and spent time with him as much as possible for almost two years. It helped him get back on his feet.
As soon as he was able to handle his life without my help again and met another guy, he ghosted me.
That hurt a lot, but I would do it again. I still remember visiting him one day and he just started cutting into his arm in front of me because of his mental issues, it was really brutal. I would've felt like an absolute asshole if I left right then and there, even if the outcome wasn't positive for me in the end.
I hope he's doing well now and maybe one day realizes that he shouldn't have treated me the way he did. I don't want gratitude, but an apology would be nice.
This made me laugh so hard. I was also born on the 11th. 🤣
2001 sure was a weird birthday.
Disney's "The Black Hole". It came from a time just after Walt Disney had died and they were still figuring out their shit.
So they made an extremely dark SciFi flick with a cute robot that appeals to children which is such a weird combination, but I liked it a lot. I can't even say why.
The U.S.S. Cygnus looks fucking badass, too. One of the best ship designs in a SciFi movie, change my mind.
