I mean like a month ago the US did what Russia failed to in Ukraine, yoinking Maduro and de facto taking over the country. The US similarly killed Iran’s leader like a few days into the war.

Just because the countries that were in or aligned with the former USSR are working against American interests doesn’t mean the Cold War never ended lol. For example the fight with China is much more about economics trade manufacturing influence etc than over communism vs capitalism and China isn’t even communist anymore. The conflict with China is definitely a different one imo bound by very different rules

Russia can’t even successfully invade their neighbor, a former USSR member

I think it’s because laptop vendors are threatened by the MacBook Neo, which is the first serious threat to PC sales for non tech people who buy the shitty $300 laptops at Best Buy since Chromebooks, which is the majority of the market. Bad press about Windows absolutely will convince people to get one instead of a windows laptop

Linux could also be a genuine threat if someone like Valve comes out with a Linux laptop for gamers or a major vendors starts preinstalling like Ubuntu or Fedora on consumer oriented laptops but I doubt any major vendors would unless they have a serious falling out with MS

Nobody using Instagram DM’s is actually going to go out of their way to encrypt messages like that, people who care about privacy are going to move their conversations to Signal or another secure app with E2EE built in
