People weren't kidding about Stalin's one mistake. Are we really going to need a nuclear war to defeat the Nazis once and for all?
Free Ryukyu! Revolution of our time!
Hong Kong has fallen to communism
The nuclear bomb testing in the Pacific absolutely fucked over the people living there. But not all radiation is the same. There's no way this wastewater affects them whatsoever unless they do a pilgrimage to Fukushima Daiichi and start drinking the pre-diluted water.
Careful what you say. Both Lemmygrad and Hexbear are under the protection of the lion of Syria.
That's a nice argument, wumao. However, I've already depicted your spokesperson as a Chad with the world in his grasp.

I am a more qualified journalist than Saskia O'Donoghue it seems.
Sadly I can't find a single news article that discusses likely jury bias. In fact, most articles are just carbon copies of each other
This single user's plan does even involve using Hexbear. Lemmy.world would have to defederate from all other instances to prevent this person from trolling.
I'll always be a US apologist when this meme comes up 🦅
OK but seriously, the moon landing was an amazing accomplishment, although it definitely obscures the Soviet accomplishments in the American popular conception of space exploration. Also, most of everything we currently do in space was invented by the Soviets - the manned lunar landing was sadly a dead end in the development of space travel. And there's definitely some truth to America changing the goalposts when it lost the race to first person in space. If the N1 program actually worked out and the Soviets got to the moon first, the Americans probably would have spun up the Apollo Applications Program and proclaim the new goal is a manned flyby of Venus or Mars.
You gotta give the journalists some slack - coming up with silly nicknames for national enemies cuts through the monotony of a day of rewording press releases from the ministry of foreign affairs.
I'm a nukehead. I want nuclear cargo ships, I want coal factories to be retrofitted with SMRs, I want nuclear airplanes, I want nuclear rocket engines and nuclear bomb propelled rockets, I want nuclear synfuel and nuclear hydrogen and nuclear desalination. The only thing I'm not sold on yet is doing excavation with nuclear explosions.
But to be realistic, I'm mostly just against the environmentalist demonization of nuclear energy. We need more nuclear energy than we have right now, but it's ahistorical to advocate for a fully nuclear economy in the era of renewable energy. Something like China's clean energy mix seems pretty reasonable.
