That is not true, a lot of it is sent willingly by your browser.

And they could display it if the website was well done

Those are important studies but nothing shocking. The conclusion to draw from them is the same one we've drawn from all technologies that have improved our lives to some degree: Without them, we tend to either be incompetent as losing access to them isn't worth planning for, or we are demotivated because why would we deprive ourselves from technology that makes our work so much less exhausting?

It doesn't necessarily remove our capacity to think (and the article falsely generalises to critical thinking), it shifts what kind of thinking we do.

If AI is as good or better than I am at writing code, then I'll switch my brain to only do the orchestrating and architecture rather than the writing code part. And yes, if you remove AI, then the switch will cause me to perform less than I used to before AI, but not permanently, only until I get used to it again.

If an AI is better than a doctor at finding cancer indicators, then the doctor will focus their mind on finding solutions only rather than splitting it on both the detection and solution.

This is not new, not bad, and I'll even go to the extent of saying it's a great use of AI: Humans evolved for specialization. The less varied the tasks are, the better we are at the subset we specialize in. That's what has driven our rapid technological and societal advances in the past millenia.

But, AI has many issues and many detrimental applications as well, so don't see this comment as a full endorsement of AI.

I know this study. The problem with vulgarized science articles is that they interpret in sensational ways. Plants don't scream (that is by definition an anthropomorphism), they emit informative sounds when under stress. The use of the word "scream" implies pain, which plants do not feel.

Pain, as far as we know, requires a nervous system to be felt. No study disproves that.

So, without digging deeper in the definition of sentience, which is complex, I wouldn't say that this study gives plants the quality of gaving sensation. It just says that when you cut a plant, the plant emits sounds.

Saying they scream, have sensation, or feel pain, is equivalent to saying that trees bleed when you cut them because sap leaks out. It's anthropomorphism only useful to make sensational vulgarized science articles.

No, we have not. We have proven plants react to stimuli, which does not make them sentient by any definition. Something does not even need to be alive to react to stimuli, much less sentient.

But my clickbait!

There is always major differences between municipal and national elections. I'll agree with you when it comes to national elections. But the socialists have been leading Paris since 2001. Both mayors since have been reelected after their first mandate. So, they must be doing something right at the city level! And now, Paris is about to have a third socialist mayor in a row, amounting to at least 31 continuous years of socialist leadership in Paris.

I am disappointed with their politics at a national level. But when I was living in Paris I was pretty happy with what they were doing with the city.

This is not helped by the Linux community who in a general rule are not particularly accommodating towards novices.

Luckily this trend is shifting! More and more linux distros oriented towards users new to linux, and helpful communities.

I'd bet on that as well. It is big tech's master plan.

Capitalism sadly corrupts everyone and everything. I'm yet to see a company that doesn't go to shit within 20 years.

True for the phone and tablet, but for any sort of computer that is not true

I work on a laptop with virtual desktops and I am much more productive that way than with a big screen... Or two big screens.

Everything is in the center of my field of view, I know which VD of my 3x3 grid holds what. It's much more efficient for me than bigger screens could ever be. And that is not for lack of trying!

It just depends on the person.

Looks like your Pi thinks it can use IPv6. Find where, and disable it.

Just because you have the option and can afford it does not mean every european citizen can have it or afford it.

EU policies aren't just for the privileged.
