I think mint has timeshift enabled by default. Try going back to when the games worked and figure out what change caused the gamss to break?

Yes the DMA. WhatsApp has the skeleton code for it in place I think

If you are rooted and the app doesn't need any gapps, try hide prop config magisk module. (Some apps have fallbacks for gapps built in like Uber has OSM as fallback for gmaps in India atleast)

Yes. I don't endorse WhatsApp. What I meant is if you chat with 15 people out of which 5 use WhatsApp, only those 5 chats are potentially readable by Meta. Because those are the only chats which will get sent to Meta servers.

So you have the benefit that the other 10 chats are not readable by Meta.

True. However there are certain advantages

  • WhatsApp gets only a part of your data (coz many people might be on different apps)
  • You don't have to run WhatsApp on your device so they can't collect that data either

I know it's not perfect but better than the current scenario and a step in the right direction

Is the source code available? I would like to see how auditors rate it's security. Even if it's not as good I would say it's a step in the right direction.

I would add Digilocker as well. Completed removed my need for a wallet. But it's not as great as these 2

Why do you want them to switch from Signal? Federation? Other than that Signal's great. Idk specifically about Signal bridge but I'm in a room with Telegram and IRC bridged and both bridges work pretty well. The room was bridged to XMPP as well but XMPP bridge was weird (resent random messages sometimes) so we removed it. Give it a try though and if possible tell me how it works? I'm curious :p

EU's Digital Markets Act might interest you :p

Why not hash it client side? Edit: Isn't SSL vulnerable to MITM attacks? (I am a noob in this field)

Thanks a lot! I have a kitchen scale and measuring cup which I'll use for the time being. Later on I might get sophisticated tools for coffee
