Another noob here but lemmyist for years. Recently saw the light. I do see rightwingers of all kinds pop up (not here) rn in what I perceive to be strategic opinion shifting either with reddit-radicalized "centrists", paid actors or bots. A lot of them have zero posts, some have only anti china, anti russia posts and are 4 weeks old and the mods wont do anything.

With palestine discussion escalating, I assume they're mass manipulating to manage lemmy's political stance. Most obvious is the outright manipulation on feddit.org with outright propaganda being pushed, which is kind of on par for germany though.

Just sharing my recent exp. Not trying to make a particular point. :)

I really appreciate this comment. It basically puts my general direction into words. I have constant discussions with healthy white folks with a bachelors degree and nearly six figures who say socialism is a nice idea but... It makes my skin crawl. I have lived through starvation and homelessness. it is incredibly hard to stay friendly in the face of such privilege.

You're right. Its not a new model. That doesnt make it less stigmatizing imo. Example: autistic people are a lot more prone to stress induced mental health issues. This shifts the view from the capitalist murder machine to people who are "vulnerable". That is the capitalist problem. Individualizing systemic issues. Industrial exploitation shouldnt exist, people who cant deal with that arent vulnerable, they are sane.

And no, imo people dont have to have a preexisting condition to fall prey to high tech emotional manipulation. Such tech should not exist.

Well, someone who is diagnosed with a mental health thing obviously counts as preexisting condition.

but interacting with a bleeding edge manipulation bot imo has no real known vulnerable groups.

it hasnt been scientifically examined before, which is its own clusterfuck.

Tldr: everyone has "preexisting conditions" if you throw untested malicious programmes at them. Its like saying a company has preexisting conditions to get hijacked by ransomware. Or a person has preexisting conditions to getting kidnapped.

It is individualizing a systemic issue.

"They're walking wall street bankers onto the ice"

I dont see a problem wit this.

Everyone has certain traits. There are no "preexisting" conditions as binary things like a missing leg. Its more like a weak point in the spine that wasnt that bad but when they overextended it, it went bad. It would be kinda ableist to lable people who push these labels on people who cant handle literal manipulation machines.

Humans should not use AI unless absolutely necessary. Same as regular tv, gambling, etc. All this stuff is highly dangerous.

You just broke my brain. Thanks for this. :)

And another banger. Thank you for this on point explanation. :)

I dont know if I find this funny. Its a naked capitalism thing. It breeds lonelyness and even profits from its treatment - not its cure of course, dont be naive. Its basic empathy to understand this stuff imo.

It does however make me wanna do things to entitys that is written down in certain books and bears significant penalties.

Honest question: is there a "tankiepedia" of sorts where you can read solely non nato perspectives so to speak?

I'm running around in leftist circles a lot since beginning of last year. I first got introduced to socialism through anarchism [stereotype alert] started to read and went pretty straight to communist and then ML pretty recently. The shoe is still new but it fits very well so far.

Whenever I bring up socialism and communism (let alone ML), I get a lot of flak from other leftists and especially from anarchists. Yet, I feel like a couple anarchist agitators sound like MLs just cosplaying. It would make sense as anarc kids are totally open for socialist ideas if one lets out the "science" part which irritates me a lot.

Does anyone have similar experience or is able to explain?

Btw pls let me know if this is inappropriate to ask. I dont mean to offend anyone.
