Distrobox basically just runs a vm to mess around with, so the script just sets up the vm for you. Fmu, as long as distrobox works for your distro, it should just work

Look into davincibox! It’s a script (?) that uses distrobox to install davinci seamlessly. It’s great and worked perfectly for me even with an amd gpu

https://www.brookings.edu/articles/america-has-two-economies-and-theyre-diverging-fast/ here's a link to an article about the increasing income rates for democratic households over 10 years. And here's a US government website discussing the many health risks of obesity. Those are the only real claims I made, everything else is from my experience. I have never met a single person who has used poor as an insult, and fat is really fucking uncommon.

PS. it is so insanely moronic to think you can just "dismiss" someone without any evidence. I really do feel bad for you, you've made so many strawman arguments about me being "fatphobic" when I explicitly stated that I don't think fat = bad. I used to be moderately obese, I was 230 for a little while as a teenager, and then I learned about the side effects of obesity in school and worked to drop weight down to 180. Even now I'd consider myself a bit overweight, but do I think obese people are "bad"? No! And if you think I did, then you're an idiotic motherfucker who can't read any commentary without thinking it's an insult to yourself.

If you can get me an actual source against any of my statements, then I might reconsider. But until then, anything that is said by you is a strawman argument. If there is no evidence for an argument, that is, by DEFINITION, a strawman argument.

Edit: just saw your updated response, obviously you don’t care enough to find out whether or not the shit you’re pulling out of your ass is actually true

What’s going on in Mexico? Did he just not tariff them?

I think he even said “Stop running” BEFORE he started running

Sure, let’s play ball with your strawman argument that democrats are “fatphobic”and classist. Firstly, I guess it’s a good thing I’m much farther left than democrats, but I guess you could consider me one for this moment.

From my understanding, the median Republican is poorer than the median Democrat. Most Democratic states have a minimum wage that’s much higher than Republican states and are more likely to get a higher education, meaning they can get even higher paying jobs later on in life.

Now, is this a bad thing? Yes! Is it their fault? No! So I’m not gonna shun them for it.

However, this does mean republicans have to buy cheaper, unhealthier food, which may lead to a higher obesity rate, or as you call it, being “fat”.

Is it a bad thing to be obese? That’s mostly subjective, there’s many reasons one can be obese. But there are always objective health complications that run along side obesity. To name a few: Lower life span, higher risk of heart disease, lower quality of life.

I’ve seen first hand how obesity affects people and their families. My grandfather passed away from heart failure pretty early on, and my uncle nearly lost his foot because he refused to get treatment for diabetes.

So, is it a bad thing to be obese? Not necessarily, but it’s usually an indicator of actual bad things. Is it a bad thing to do nothing about your obesity? Absolutely.

In reality however, these “middle class white democrats” you speak of that go around insulting people by calling them poor and fat don’t exist, and if they do, they’re a very small minority. You are just as hateful and ignorant as the people you’ve made up to fit your world view.

If you can get me a good source for your information, then please do! I encourage you to research this and share your results! Maybe you’ll even be able to change my mind about this.

I know! I'm really hoping that with the release of the steam frame, they'll also update steamvr to have wayland support (maybe even the steam client itself?) and to actually support amd gpu's OOTB without any tinkering

That reminds of this picture I took last year!

Ahh, that’s what I figured but wasn’t sure

Cool! I’m confused why I’m tagged here but I’ll check it out

Hi! A few months ago, I was trying to get steam link vr working on my pc, and it was very... uncooperative, I spent ages trying to find a solution only to finally find it on some obscure forum post. So here's how it went:

Upon trying to connect to my pc, I kept getting:

Video Encoder Error
Couldn't set up a video encoder. Your GPU may not be supported, or you may need to update your computer's graphics driver. (499)

Preventing me from connecting. Simply putting this in my launch args for SteamVR fixed that for me, RADV_PERFTEST=video_decode,video_encode DRI_PRIME=1 ~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/SteamVR/bin/vrmonitor.sh %command%.

But then I got a different error (I think 1033 or 1202? idk). After looking it up, I found that I just needed to swap my mesa drivers to the freeworld variety, as it turns out that fedora's defualt mesa driver's don't come with hardware encoding support, but freeworld does. You can do so by running sudo dnf swap mesa-vulkan-drivers mesa-vulkan-drivers-freeworld. From there, it worked! The vr dashboard was broken at first, appearing completely invisible, but I think I fixed it by just rebooting.

ik it's short and sweet, but I'm hoping this can help someone somewhere, since it took me so long to find it myself.

PS: The only thing is, steamvr currently can't display your desktop properly if you're using wayland, it simply doesn't support it. BUT here's a cool project that can help you work around it, for some reason there's currently a bug with their pipewire implementation (or something like that) such that you have to manually connect the display streams in the coppwr pipewire gui (helvum and carla don't work), otherwise it'll only show one frame of the display stream.

403 Forbidden Error in webui (piefed.zeromedia.vip)
submitted 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) by guynamedzero@piefed.zeromedia.vip to c/piefed_meta@piefed.social

HI! First, I'm very sorry if this is the wrong community, if there's a better comm, please point me in their direction.

I've been running my own piefed instance for a few months now, but recently (maybe? idk how long this has been happening), if I try to open the webui from a private browser tab, or from another device, I get a 403 forbidden error code. {"code":403,"status":"Forbidden"}. Is this a common issue?

I've been trying to look this up online and it seems like it might be nginx, but I have many other things running behind nginx with that don't act like this, so I figured I'd ask here before going to a more general nginx community.

You're more than welcome to try going to my instance yourself, at piefed.zeromedia.vip

UPDATE:

Turning the "private instance" setting on and then back off seems to have fixed it. I'm not 100% yet but I can currently access piefed on all devices/browser sessions

Update 2:

That didn't quite fix it, for some reason, turning the private instance setting on does fix it, but as soon as I turn it off again, it breaks

Hey! How do you pronounce AUR? (piefed.zeromedia.vip)

In reference to the Arch User Repository, do you say Ore? Arr? Our? Do you say A U R? Or do you just say the full Arch User Repository?

Hi! Recently I convinced my partner to make the switch to linux, specifically, Fedora. However, sometimes her computer will just completely freeze, and requires a hard reboot, I haven't gotten the chance to test if reisub works while it's frozen. Also, very, very rarely, it will come back to life, or show some signs of life; today, it froze, but I could still hear her over our call, and then it slowly advanced the display over the next couple minutes- as in the mouse was moving very slowly according to how she was moving her mouse when it froze- before stopping again and requiring a reboot.

I'm pretty sure this has been happening since day 1, fresh install, so I don't think it's anything we did/installed that broke things.

My gut tells me that it's an issue with her memory, but it seems like the majority of the time, it happens while using graphically intensive apps/games, but that's not always consistent. This leads me to think it's actually an nvidia issue, we've tried both the neuveau and proprietary drivers, but it happens on both.

Does anyone have any ideas about this?

For context, this popped up as I went to the youtube homepage. This is absurd. Of course, I have uBlock Origin, so it doesn't matter to me regardless, but there's no way to say no.
