I can't really respond to the NYT article you posted, it requires a subscription to view

When it comes to the Goebbels diaries, it appears that Goebbels himself knew (or at the very least believed) that Katyn was done by the Bolsheviks. Although the massacre was very useful to him for propaganda purposes. At least that is the impression I get by skimming through his 1943 diary (published sometime in the 90s)

On April 14, 1943 he wrote

We are now using the discovery of 12,000 Polish officers, murdered by the GPU, for anti-Bolshevik propaganda on a grand scale.

Evidence of Soviet guilt was provided in the 90s - Beria's letter to Stalin comes to mind. Recent investigations into the mass graves done by polish archeologists showed that the victims didn't have anything made after 1940 on them.

The people repeating this version of the story now are all the usual suspects: NATO, bourgeois journalists and Polish nationalists.

No, the "people repeating this version of the story" are not just a handful of western propagandists and nationalists. This story is accepted by everyone except for a few MLs.

I don't see at what point exactly that person is doing "apologia" for the nazis. I am also not aware of any evidence suggesting that the polish people killed in Katyn were "nazi collaborators" as you are trying to claim and it seems like what you're trying to do is thoughtless apologia for a real atrocity commited by the USSR on polish people. Yes, killing 20k people is nowhere near as bad as the nazi atrocities - that doesn't suddenly make it justifiable.

I've heard people claim that China has a decent democratic system - one that's better at addressing the people's needs than the liberal democratic system we have in the west. Could someone provide me with resources on the way democracy works in China, China's political system, etc.?

also unrelated but it seems like all the links in the sidebar of this community are dead links

Hi! I am a new leftist and would like to know what approaches should I use when deprogramming/radicalising people. All my attempts so far at getting rid of the anti-communist/racist/sexist/etc brainworms that my friends/family have, have been completely unsuccessful. I know that not everyone can be radicalised into becoming a leftist, but still, what should I do to at least slightly alter the worldview of the people around me? I'm sorry if this is too generic of a question

the fact that i live in poland probably doesnt help, even saying somehting vaguely positive about socialism here makes people think that you at the very least lost your mind lmao

I’m sorry if what I’m about to say is completely wrong, but I disagree with calling Fox News liberal. I don’t think words have absolutely constant meanings, their definitions can change if people start using them in a different way. That has happened with the words "liberal" and "conservative" where they are used to refer to a different set of political positions than 200 years ago (mostly because people advocating for feudalism and aristocratic rule are few and far between nowadays). So I think that Fox News would be "liberal" in the original meaning of the word, but not in the current understanding of the word.

a post about how many nazis remained in positions of power is made, the op is called a tankie and people defend the decision to keep nazis around

For me it was at one point being consistently exposed to people with left-wing views. I think it’s hard to maintain a right-wing worldview unless you have little to no exposure to anyone but chuds.

Also you stop being 15 at one point. That certainly helps

how does one even come to the conclusion that the planet-destroying opressive Empire is the good faction in Star Wars? like, at what point is there any scene that presents it as anything else than a genocidal regime? I know that conservatives usually aren’t the most media-literate people but I still can’t wrap my head around that

What's even weirder is that the US Supreme Court was not even given that power by the constitution and just kinda gave it to itself in Marbury v Madison
