Minnesota, U.S.:
A man described as impersonating a police officer has apparently shot state senator John Hoffman (D) and state representative Melissa Hortman (D) at their homes overnight. Their spouses were also shot. ~~Condition unknown for all victims.~~ See update.
Suspect impersonating police officer is still at large - notably before planned protests today. On the off chance someone here lives in northern Minneapolis, avoid cops with extra fervor today.

Melissa Hortman and spouse have been killed. John Hoffman and spouse are post-surgery and prognosis is "optimistic".
Police are urging people to avoid political protests today, LMAO
Suspect identified as Vance Luther Boelter. "It appears it is the same Boelter who was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Gov. Tim Walz. He appointed to the Governor's Workforce Development Council in 2016 by then-Gov. Mark Dayton."
Sidenotes:
spoiler
Minneapolis police may be stretched thin today between this and the protests. Reportedly, all 201 state lawmakers are in protective custody and are described as having a police car outside their homes since the shootings. Additionally, "hundreds and hundreds" of cops are participating in the manhunt. Planned protests start at 11 A.M. CDT.
