I don't intend to leave AT in a semi-unmaintained state (unlike cough Nyaa.si)

I wasn't aware Nyaa was unmaintained. What happened on Nyaa?

I just migrated my comms to Reddthat and Piefed.zip (!NikkeNSFW@reddthat.com and !BigAnimeTiddies@piefed.zip).

From reading their rules, they don't prohibit NSFW content.

We should use the death of LemmyNSFW as reminder to spread communities across as many instances as possible so something like this won't happen again at the same scale.

Because right now, if Lemmy.World goes down, then we're absolutely fucked.

Edit: fixed typo.

This doesn't answer OP's question. Do you have a link to it?

And why do you need to set your VPN to Europe to watch YouTube videos?

I'm dropping the XVIDEOS link (nsfw, obviously).

Artist's Twitter: @Maplestar_Art

I reverse searched your image and found one with the highest quality. I think this one came from Instagram. :)

Said more directly: r/popular sucks, and we’re moving away from it, and towards better, more relevant and personalized feeds.

I hate how the highlighted part is going to be a decent thing at best or a fucking horrible thing at worst.

OG artist doesn’t know you can say “porn” on the fediverse without being shadowbanned.

I think it's for comedic purposes. You don't get banned for saying "porn" on Twitter or Pixiv, the two platforms the artist posts on.

10+ years on Reddit. Never banned on any subreddit or Reddit itself, ever. First came here during the 2023 API controversy. Went back to Reddit since the anime community was pretty small here, and I could still use my own API key for 3rd party apps.

Came back to Lemmy a week or two ago due to this bullshit. I'm not affected yet as I still have my own API key, so I'll be hopping back and forth between Reddit and Lemmy. But I know my time on Reddit is limited.

I just hope Lemmy and the rest of the Fediverse is polished up by the time of the next Reddit exodus. But based on the most recent API change, I think Reddit has learned to make smaller changes over long periods of time over one major change that angers everyone all at once.

Then the API debacle happened two years ago

Good news! They made things worst a few days ago by requiring users to request permission to get a personal API key. So if you don't already use a modified 3rd party app with your own API key, then you're fucked!

What about the uneducated fleas?

[-] DundasStation@lemmy.ca 23 points 2 years ago

For me, it's more like "Did I accidentally drop a hot take and got the entire community to go against me?"

[-] DundasStation@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 years ago

There must never be a single dominant instance. If one instance becomes too large, they end up having too much influential power. And with all that power, big corporations or power tripping admins will use that power to coerce other instances to do certain things. "Don't want to follow our unilaterally-imposed rule? We're gonna cut off your entire instance and your users will lose access to our communities."

If Meta doesn't get defederated, they will become the dominant instance. They already have the most amount of users since I'm assuming you can use your Facebook/Instagram account, they'll have the most amount of user activity, and of course the most amount of power.
