I underestimated how many more would come in today. Over 110 entries now!

HR dumped this on a random desk in my office to show their gratitude for all we do. Starts off with "Hi team". There's two people who work in this area, me and someone else and we aren't in the same team, not even in the same site technically.

Dunno why they couldn't be honest and just say they found this at the back of their cupboard when doing a clean out. It would have been less insulting.

gratitude

I don't think I've seen a more blatant example of main character syndrome than seeing real estate agents putting themselves into videos showing the house they're selling.

And I don't mean talking about the house. They're in the video sitting on the couch or opening the door to enter with all this dramatic music playing, or staring out from the balcony all reflective and stuff.

Good lord.

I've been wanting to share this for a while now, but it is finally confirmed and official.

I am working with Libraries Tasmania to run a short story competition for kids aged 17 and under. Similar to the contest I did with the schools, I approached the library to see if they would like to do something similar and they said yes. It's only being promoted on the west/north-west of Tasmania but it's open to anyone in Tasmania. I hope to expand it statewide next year, especially if it gets a lot of interest.

I'm so excited to see this idea come to fruition. Creative writing is so awesome and I can't wait to see what stories the kids will come up with.

Unfortunately, doesn't really apply to the forum since this is a melbourne sub, but I had to share.

Little one bought home her fathers day gift which was a 'all about her dad' poster and she has successfully made me sound like I'm an alcoholic.

Which is super impressive because I don't even drink alcohol, lol.

I don't like bragging, but this is shortlived so I'm gonna own it.

I got my other assignment back yesterday.

Again.

I thought I was looking at the previous one. But nope. 2 x 92's in a row. Couldn't believe it.

Sooooo I got the call. It's sounds promising. I won't go into too much details because it's early stages but it is a potential writing collaboration idea I had and they are receptive to the idea.

They're gonna talk to their people and see if and what can be done and we can work from there. I'm hopeful. It's going to be so cool if it comes to fruition.

IT Support ticket we got this morning: hi, the keyboard I am using, the backspace doesn't work. I've looked around for another one..oh hang on I cleaned it out and there was a paperclip underneath it. All good now.

And they submitted it, lol.

In other news, it's so weird hearing about the crazy weather you guys are getting yet it hasn't rained at all here. We usually get the same weather as Melbs, maybe a day or so later.

And in good news. I finished working on my latest book, and now editing and getting the covers planned for Books 4 and 5 of VDV.

And in more good news, Netflix are adapting another Fear Street novel - The Prom Queen. I am excited!

Hope you're all doing good.

Boss asks us to think up project work for us to do.

Why would I want to think up more work for myself?

Last week was book week and I was invited to do some writing/book talks at three primary schools nearby and it went so awesomely well. I was nervous - as always, and really wasn't in the mood for it - but the kids were so engaging and fun to talk too. They asked a lot of questions and really just made the whole thing worthwhile. I tried getting them involved by asking them questions about writing and they showed me some stories they were working on too.

I donated my books to their school library and apparently they're all keen to borrow them. I also had the books sell out at the local store nearest them and I restocked them and it's almost sold out again. It's only 6 or 7 copies but it's taken months to even sell that many at times so it was really cool and a surprise.
