In what feels like 50 years of cable / broadcast television how is there no device that can detect when the ads start to change the channel for you? Maybe we really do need the AI for that.

It's equally a pro and a con but for me it's a huge pro:

You can know exactly what your computer is doing because it will tell you!!

You can see highly verbose logs, granted it's not easy to interpret without the necessary skills but Chatgpt doesn't mind it if you dump 100 lines into a print and just say "fix my shit", I do that routinely. I hated how windows would just freeze up and flash a popup like "Program not working" and I have to guess what's going on by gauging the feeling of the software. I want exactly what I want to happen and Linux just does it without fighting me

Maybe a bit of an edge case but I use a wallet case and I still carry a credit card. Wireless chargers have cooked my credit card a few times.. and nfc Google pay doesn't always work.

I never said it was a good solution. There is no way to trust any validation that a user on the Internet is a person. But this way is cheap easy and most people aren't gonna go through the effort of masking their identities.

Also one discrepancy in an audit of a phone number trusted user base sticks out enough for cops to make some progress.

When have far right politicians in any country ever represented the views of that country?

I actually see this from a different perspective I think could be cool to consider. Advertising is Google's number one business, but the current model of banner ads and video ads don't work.

People are actively running away from ads. And Google keeps trying to do everything they can to improve their core business, when literally ads are like so last century. I don't even believe Google can continue to succeed with ads even if they took away all of our privacy features. At the end of the day, people learned, and people moved on.
