Javascript is overrated and more websites should be static with minimal interactive bs. But that's just me, a cynical user tired of intrusive pop-ups and predatory advertising scripts.
Piggybacking on this, I tried Fitgirl repack releases and some of them hang up during install when executed through wine or proton. I resorted to installing them from a windows boot and then execute them from linux, but does anyone have a better solution?

I make 1 single partition for the entire drive and encrypt it with veracrypt. Veracrypt has portable executables for windows and if I lose the flash drive in the worst case people will think it's a corrupted disk (unrecognized partition) and reformat them probably.

Agreed, the foss-friendly image is just a facade. MS is never going to commit to open source as it directly threatens their bloodline.
I've been using linux for about a decade. I only know how to maintain my system and google when troubles arise. I'm pretty comfortable with my setup and would love to see many make that jump as well. However, I have to concede that corporate environments add a whole another dimension to the problem.
