You see, you can still protest and make peaceful change with the mediocre and not fascist candidate. Good luck surviving with the fascist one. That’s what I’m arguing that the left is horrendous at pragmatism.

Most of us do the same. I haven’t heard anyone in my circle of friends that praises facebook for anything but keeping in touch with people.

While I appreciate the detailed reply, I don’t share the same views. I think ultimately we will more or less merge with technology, rather than be on separate paths. I’m more worried about the 1% having overwhelming control of said technology than anything else.

I’m also not very human-centric in my world view. If we are adaptable and smart enough we will prevail, if not, we will perish as countless other species before and after us. That doesn’t mean I don’t hold dear to our achievements over the millennia.

Trump is at least a showman and it showed that a lot of people are braindead enough to believe him. This coupled with the apathy of the other part (afaik Kamala had fewer votes overall than Biden) got us here. The democrats, as with many other parties over here in Europe are fucking afraid to SAY THINGS OUT LOUD. I don't know if that's because they consider themselves too god for it or not, but it's disastrous. Here in Romania the former president had less public appearances in 10 fucking years than the interim one we have had for the past ~2 months and we were on the verge of electing a russian puppet mostly out of spite.

We had a blanket ban on abortion/contraception in the 60s in Romania and while initially there was a boom in newborns, it eventually reverted to the norm even if the ban wasn't lifted. So I'm not so sure about that.

While airpods are dogwater in terms of recycling, I have a 2nd hand pair or them and 2 years later they still work like in the beggining.

Phtn.app is actually a website/selfhosted interface for lemmy. The mobile PWA is a big buggy, but the desktop one works fine.

I thought so, but at least in Voyagger iOS after I logged in I had no subscriptions. I didn't bother to double check for now as I'm quite happy with phtn.

LE: reinstalled voyager and now I have my subscriptions linked with my account. Looks dope too.

I tried it but I have one beef with it: once logged in, my subscribed communities are no longer appearing and i have to resubbscribe to all of them. I did it once on phtn and wouldn't want to do it all over again as I'm hopping around lemmy apps.
