Im not ready to give them a pat on the back and a gold star because they took down videos of people being raped 🤷‍♀️ that’s kind of the bare minimum. If all internet porn platforms contain some unethical or not-consensual content and PornHub has the least, that’s not a good enough reason to promote them imo

Call me crazy but I’m not very quick to forgive or trust again a platform that allowed sexual assault videos of a teenage girl to remain publicly posted. I don’t think pornhub is the epitome of ethical porn either. But on that note if people care about the ethics of their consumption I think they should consider decreasing their porn usage in general, it’s a pretty obvious net negative for personal health and societal health

I struggle with the same thing and what helps me is having tools that I can use to be “alone-ish” Sunglasses, noise cancelling headphones, or physically going to sit somewhere alone like on the floor. Helps me calm down faster. I wish I had some secret to calm myself and just keep going but I’ve tried a lot of things and it always takes time. Another method to reduce my meltdown duration is EARLY WARNING. Once I realize it’s coming I can use havening techniques or take a break. My service dog alerts me to this too and he can use deep pressure therapy to calm me down

If you don’t think autism is a disability I question your diagnosis accuracy. Regardless of how you feel about that, kindly do not tell people it’s not a disability. I have work accommodations, living accommodations, insurance conditions, and a service dog, none of which I’d have without my diagnosed disability

I’d say moderation is up to each instance, but it does leave the question if anyone is legally responsible for ensuring no instances have illegal content - I’d guess no. If it’s open source then the perpetrators will be solely responsible for illegal content on that instance, as they used the open source platform for nefarious purposes… I’m thinking individual instances have a legal obligation to keep that content blocked, but I’m not sure. I think this is a really good question

I have been an “I hate Apple but it’s the only UI I can tolerate” consumer for a while. But recently due to Apple’s commitment to data privacy (specifically in contrast to Google) I think I’m gonna stick with them.
