Because they don't care about performances. They just want you to not pirate the game for the first couple weeks after release so they can make the most sales money, then once the crack is out, they remove Denuvo...or not.
The security is for their benefit not yours, so they don't have a reason to trust your hardware over proprietary software they control.
But maybe I'm wrong, I'm just assuming. I'm not a dickhead using Denuvo.

My view on it is:
The world turned before we existed, it will keep turning long after we're gone.
The economy is manmade. It was modelled for humans by humans, and if we have to change how it works for it to survive, we will always find some bullshit new rule to append to the rest.
Making kids to sustain an economy is just a pyramid scheme. Don't make kids other than because you want them and you want to love them otherwise you're just scamming them.
Daily commute and sleep deprivation that derives from it is mind numbing. The only reason leaders want people to work at the office is so they don't pay for empty offices.
Want people to innovate ? Give them free time to do research on a subject your company could benefit from.
Want people to meet with their teams ? Organize team activities once in a while. Everyone will benefit and be happier for it.
