Well that's the actual purpose but they could at least fake their stated purpose a few times a year and do a Willie Horton level ethics ad against Trump

If Dems refuse to be contrite about any of this, and firmly deny all responsibility for the shooting and pin the incident on the Republican intraparty strife, while also just dredging these tweets up for this guy, the whole incident will blow over as a point of relevance by the general. Why? Because the conservative outrage machine only advances when it successfully gets Democrats to express remorse for or condemn a person they wave in the Dems' faces.

If the Dems and leftists firmly say "I don't give a shit, none of this involves any of us and we let you get away with spewing far more violent rhetoric," at every turn, the chuds movement does not progress the same because they have no scalps to collect and show as a mark of progress. When someone like Jack Posobiec screenshots or quote tweets stuff and goes "can you believe this person?!?" and invite brigades toward some liberal politician or journalist, they only feel accomplished once the target has backed down, deleted their account, or apologized. If none of that happens and the attacked person is steadfast, the burning rage has nowhere to go and moves on to other targets or dies.

It is insane Dems have never learned this after years of it being done to their faces by Republicans, even for things like the Pelosi hammer attack that Republicans are actually responsible FOR. The initial chud reaction to a Dem doubling down might be to make threats or try doxxing, but if you're brave enough to face it you are by that point basically taking the bumblebees stinger and dooming it to death soon after.

The whole goddamn point of the Lincoln Project was that they made the dirty ads Dems were too scared to make. If Dems don't at least get that in exchange for whitewashing elite neocon war mongers, they need to be disbanded as a party.

This is what happens when your whole party is conflict averse PMCs, they cannot conceive of facing the fire or campaigning onward like nothing's happened, because they back down at the first sight of the right's finger-wagging and bad faith condemnations. They only know how to slink away from a barking dog, and can't conceive of barking back so loudly that the other dog is cowed.

It's also why I think it was a mistake for Dems since Clinton to basically jettison any tone of gruffness or indelicacy from their party to triangulate against Trump. The older, mostly-white "based libs" like Ron Perlman who attacked Trump from a place of righteous-if-somewhat-problematic rage were the best answer to people like Trump.

The only way forward I think, if they want it, is to actually put gun safety and political instability back into focus, and figure out a way to indirectly imply Trump's rhetoric created a country where such an event was possible. That would mean not letting up in campaigning on the fact he'll be a dictator, and directly saying that he's now a dictator out for revenge once he gets into office, and that we shouldn't have to pay for something someone in his own party did.

Now, this will be hyper inflammatory to the Trump chuds to be sure, but when they tell a normie such direct arguments, the normie might nod along but deep down will not see anything wrong with it, making the outrage contained to inside of the conservative sphere. Basically, the only way out is through, the only way out is for Democrats to once in their lives not lighten or temper their rhetoric just because the right hysterically tries to shame you into doing so, forcing them to hit their ceiling of anger with no hedging on your end and waiting out their bluff.

Yep, it's old people and people who live in a sheltered world where politics is eternally nice and civil, all the way down. They may consciously be aware Trump is a unique threat, but are fixedly averse to straying from the rulebook of playing nice.

The thing is when we fret about riots we always picture riots of the past when overall populations were lower, countries didn't have too many deeply interlocked financial interests, and technology was less sophisticated. In a developed country of 300 million people to keep stable with an exceptionally high tech military, any major attempts at rioting will still end up a comparative whimper that soon gets either subdued by institutional forces focused on maintaining predictable markets above all, or have their rage diverted by content made by self-interested private org grifters.

The reason leftists are certain Dems will lose is because for fear of being called crass or heartless by the media and the GOP, they will think of doing something stupid like not campaign in any places Trump isn't campaigning to make it a "fair fight," sit on their hands and refrain from any strong attacks on Trump if the Republican commentators go "how could you?!" and maybe even officially concede defeat ahead of time like they did when Steve Scalise got shot at the congressional baseball game they were winning.

Well not to be crass gentlemen, but I like to share what I'm fapping to

The smart thing Democrats won't do now is only ever mention that the shooter was a Republican in unison on every media appearance and have their framing be that Trump's rhetoric is so dangerous it's even hurting him. Dems are too scared of doing things like this that actually work and would force the GOP to exhaust their resources trying to counter message on an issue unrelated to actual governing.

If Joe Brandon makes it to the second debate he will cede his time to Trump as a gesture of good will and let Trump call him a failure to his face.
