I didn't believe it until I saw the aid trucks moving in across the Egyptian border. I can't articulate the wave of relief I felt seeing that. Even if the ceasefire falls apart a week from now, that aid will save the lives of hundreds of thousands of people who would have otherwise died from starvation, disease, and the cold weather.

Our campus has basically stated that any protests would be packed up by the cops and we had like 2 protests that were incredibly mild. Shits ridiculous, they even increased police presence on school and got armed guards walking around too. Very not so subtle threat to just shoot protestors. Public school btw

As far as I know there is a huge planned protest at the DNC itself. You could probably just try showing up or try looking up Chicagos SJP group and see if they have anything posted.

Idk about the others though, maybe they are just uneducated on how bad the situation in Ukraine is? Gaza is front and center on social media and a lot of protests are happening. Ukraine is way more locked down in mainstream media as an underdog constantly about to beat Russia.

I think he's trying to bring all of Lebanon into the conflict or rather stating that they would be drawn in regardless because of Israelis track record of murdering civilians.

Also part of the speech seemed aimed at the US state department, only they can restrain Israel and there will be no more listening to them while they refuse to stop or even condemn Israel.
