Well part of the issue is that lies in politics is all that most of these people know. They admit it or not, are so used to that spectacle of lies that they can't imagine an honest politician anymore.

Being presented with some factual information to the contrary probably causes some serious discomfort. Thing that you were taught to hate since a little kid turns out to work better than shit you lived in all your life. It doesn't justify willful ignorance but I get it, it hurts (:

It's just the anti-communist stubbornness of some people that irritates me. There should be a time in your life where you just accept that you were wrong. Admit it, improve and move on with your life. Instead I see people doing mental gymnastics and lowering themselves to support fascists instead. It's horrible.

Yes, that's a bummer.

I managed to get a first vol. of Capital in quite nice condition though (:

Would you recommend a good way to search for literature from PRL? I do most of my reading on e-reader now but interacting with these books is a joy in itself.

I think there would be less pop-ups! (;

But on a serious side, yeah, same...

I think I saw whole collections being sold for relatively low prices on Polish websites with second-hand stuff, but that was a couple years ago... or maybe that was just a lucky find or my memory plays tricks on me!

I got two or three books wrote by Lenin and Stalin back then that didn't break the bank. (:

I really don't get my buddy who said he'd like to move to the US. Although after a short discussion he admitted it'd be a horrible place to live long-term. I think that propaganda in media a lot of us consumed since childhood romanticized this horrible country. It took me like two, three years to unlearn this bs and good associations to see the US for what it is lol...

Robots have been assembling things like vehicles and electronics for decades, but the sudden shift away from flesh and bone on the factory floor has given us another uneasy glimpse into the future of employment.

? OoOo, spooky, no more shitty factory jobs, so uneasy, future of full automation, scaaaary

That's perfectly valid. I was rather miserable for the large chunk of my adult life and I'm afraid I might somehow inflict that on my children too. I am not against adopting or taking care of my potential partner's children in the future, if I sort my personal stuff. (:

It's heartbreaking. Such cuts are cruel and should not even be discussed

You sure as hell deserve better, as opposed to leeches at the top feeding on other people misery like that. I truly hope things will turn out better for you.
