That's obviously a subreddit local rule and as the message said doesn't target dedicerad instances, but social media links in general. I dunno why they do this but it's a pretty uncommon rule I think

OP mentioned having ADP and automatic backups enabled and I believe iCloud sync uploads photos continuously. The biggest risk is as you say battery saving and if it will upload data over mobile data (should be a setting for that).

Further than that I would say the big question is if someone else would actually be able to access the data if OP is detained.... and of course https://xkcd.com/538/ (I don't think the random chuds in ICE would have the know how for any technical bypass)

I'll admit that I'm not that updated on recent changes but reddit used to be open about the vote counts being intentionally inaccurate. I believe this at a point started to include scaling the vote count so that the average popular post would have 10-20k or so up votes, even if the actual vote count would be much higher.

So this would make it almost impossible to make any meaningful conclusions from vote count / active users alone.

Indeed. I think that you have to remember that the vast majority of BitLocker users would go from no encryption to encryption with your key in the Cloud. Given the he risk of complete data loss this is imo a decent risk/reward in most cases. You need both the physical computer and the MS account login, and the US government also has the latter.

If you want to make an active and informed decision there is of course much better option s, but know that you would be responsible to keep the unlock key safe or risk total data loss.

So the scenario is that this guy makes it into your house all the way to your bedroom undetected, but for some reason wakes you up before attacking? Seems more likely you're going to wake up getting your head caved in, or just shot if the other random psycho also has a gun.

I have heard a lot of people complaining about deleting the Local copy.. It seems to mainly be a bad faith argument where deleting the Local copy just refers to the process of freeing up local storage of unused files(?) repeated by people who doesn't actually use OneDrive but want a unarguable point to why it's shit.

(Mind you I think it's bad enough that Microsoft tries to kind of coerce you into handing them your data)

Eventually but I give it at least 1-2 years more. Too much big money has been put into this and they won't just let their investment die without a fight

Wouldn't blocking the sunlight for the grass be a problem?
