After the recent update and the youtube fix, whenever I return to a unfinished video, it starts back from the beginning dispite it displaying the progressbar on the thumbnail and the time stamp when selecting the video but before it starts.

Is this a bug or did miss a setting?

Nah, I see what you mean, but wholly disagree with the LLM idea. I believe it's just the auther doing there thing. I've writen long winded messages,rereading and changing things tgat didn't make sense, the changing the back after reading it again because now I realize why I wrote it that way.

I'm not saying that's what they did, but I did have to reread a few sentences to understand what I was reading.
