my country (Sweden) had mandatory sterilization of trans people until the big 2013 - but worry not, we have come a long way and it is amazing how much can change in 10 years (we are worse now)

I agree that in material costs the US is in a better position to wait it out - however, most of the wars waged by amerikkka throughout history have ended due to mounting domestic political cost. What is interesting now is that alot of former alies of the US regime are turning against it publicly, so it might be that even if they could win the game of chicken in theory - it is too high of a cost politically.

I agree that Israel seems to have accelerated their expansionist project, it is very interesting to see politicians in my region (EU) continue to try and justify it. I wonder if this will be the final nail in the coffin for the perceived "humane & liberal values" that the broader western conscious still attributes our states. (obviously most organized people now it's a sham, but you'd be surprised the shift that has occured in the minds of the general un-organized populace these last few years)

What do you think guys? After yet another week of thruth social posts and back-to-back statements from both parties - will this be the week where we see either an escalation or an agreement? Now that the US regime is back from China, are they more inclined to pursue military action or will this just continue to fissle out without much progress?

It is obvious that both sides are quite far from eachother (mostly stemming from the US continuing to push for maximalist concessions), still the most immediate suffering seems to be felt by the people in Lebanon, Palestine and Iran.

I feel like there have been escalatory retoric from Iran towards UAE the last days. There have been a lot of talk regarding their alleged involvement in american strikes as well as a few of their drones being shot down over Iran.

My guess is that this is a warning to the rest of the Gulf that things wont go back to how they were and further alignment with US/Israel wont be beneficial.

EDIT: Lets also wait and see what the IRGC says - would not be the first false flag from the imperialists...

I have bad news for you regarding how we Europeans historically have handled collapse-level crises

The figure thats been thrown around by shipping companies is 2 million dollars, or around 10% toll. Read an analysis which said that with around 2 billion dollars of value flowing through the strait every day, this rate is basically enough to completely offset the economic sanctions. So far thai, chinese, greek and some other countries vessels have been allowed to pass. American or Israel affiliated ones are excluded though.

This is also why France and Germany are in talks directly with Tehran allegedly.

Western marxism - while in many cases being overrepresented on the english internet - is globally a small minority, and it's praxis is not really taken seriously by anyone on the outside.

It has almost completely diverged into more abstract analysis and historical materialism (it has to be said that many cases it produces rather good analysis), but it mostly stops there. Marxism in the west has never exercised political power and consequently a lot of the western critique against the east is based on the inexperience of using the tool of dialectal materialism in revolutionary practice. However, this is also known in many western marxist circles, and I would personally say that in the latest decades, most of the literary and politically active western marxists more and more are aligning their praxis with the east (at least the ones producing anything worth reading). But it is very much a work in progress, and as western marxists we have to stay active and come with good arguments to continue cementing this merging of thoughts.

In any case, checking whether someone understands this rift between west/eastern marxism is still a good way to test how well they have understood modern marxism.

Edit: For any lurkers who have yet to bridge this gap in their education, there are many comrades who have written about this. For beginners we have https://blackagendareport.com/western-marxism-loves-purity-and-martyrdom-not-real-revolution or https://en.prolewiki.org/wiki/Library:On_revolutionary_morality, and if you want to get into the nitty-gritty of modern eastern marxism please see https://roland-theodore-boer.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/roland-boer-socialism-with-chinese-characteristics-a-concise-guide-2021.pdf.

Edit2: Also my dear Cuba please know that we are not grouping your revolutionary accomplishments with western marxism.
