On the desktop site of defualt base Lemmy I can confirm it's been there for some time now. On 3rd party variations of Lemmy I cannot confirm they all had adopted it.

Between an Android or an Iphone smartphone.

Anything with Android on it for sure.

When you look at smartphone manufacturers, the only reason you should consider a specific manufacturer besides price (i'm talking function wise) is for any prebuilt settings. Some might have some special kind of battery saving feature among others including opening Android more compared to others. Some phones might have build in local radio support or Bluetooth others likely don't.

I know people like to set everything to new and just leave it at that. Especially when you just got out of an algorithm abusive environment on major social media platforms.

For me, I changed to using the "hot" sorting method rather then the new and active sorting methods. Granted I started out with the "new".

Heres why I went from new to hot.

Some new posts don't get comments. There are sometimes duplicate posts that do get comments that are talking about the same topic.

What hot setting does is essentially, keep newer posts that are active with comments active. Score has an impact, but as a post itself get older itself then others will rise despite how high the score was or comment amount. Making this I think my current preferred.

In other words hot is a slight modification to active setting. Active doesn't factor the date of the post with scaling, and it even I think beats the algorithms since I know how it's working and that it might not change behind my back (looking at you Youtube.).

Last remarks: What are your favorite setting and/or perspectives on post sorting?

It would actually.

Google makes money on ads. They think they can force more money to make. People switching to Firefox makes that a wasted effort for Google as you descibed.

If you hate the content, find out other types of content that does work with the short videos. Surely you could find some kind of use from it? From the videos being short it has time saving potential particularly I can see that atleast.

I addressed that actually. I said if you wanted more detail then youtube or peertube might be better.

But if you just want a quick glance, then that's why I said then maybe the short form content might be preferred.

I clicked on the article and this is talking about Modern Warefare 2 remaster, not Cod 6.Very confusing on the timing of this post for this older cod game.

I think if you're just looking for quick news breaks then it can be useful but if you're looking for detailed content or lengthy movies, or skits. Something like Youtube would be more preferred. I think for me it depends on the content.
