"It is difficult and time-consuming to do the work to lie about China all the time."

Fixed that for you Beth!

Communists don't just have the burden of being right too early, they also have the burden of never getting recognition once they've been proven to be right.

A friend is now getting really pissed off about the annexation of Gaza. And I'm like, yep, I've been mad about this for a year. And he responds with something along the lines of

"Oh yeah, the Biden administration wasn't doing great, but it was only the public facing stuff. He was doing all of his negotiation behind doors. It may not have been good, but at least I understood why he was trying to do things quietly. It might have been ineffective, but he was trying".

Sure, right, Cool cool cool, won't even admit that this is what we've been fighting the dems about... ugh.

And follows it up with

"There's not much we can do to affect foreign policy because of how we're set up"

Like.. What? Hey thanks for finally getting on board about Gaza. Please stop making excuses for Biden. And finally, WHAT THE FUCK? Nothing we can do? So I guess what Trump is saying is all bullshit then, right? Because, you know, "There's not much we can do to affect foreign policy" right???

I think I'm giving up. I can't help these people anymore. I just need to avoid politics with anyone. Their brain worms are too deep and I'm not good at propaganda AGHHH.

This could obviously be seen as a circle jerk post, but I'm just ranting a bit, need to get this annoyance off my chest after watching a crap video (The latest innuendo studios video, if you are curious, but that video isn't important specifically here).

Liberals (The American Democrat kind) spend a lot of time talking about how the alt-right will throw a piece of junk science in your face in order to support their racist conclusions or false medical conspiracy theories. This is all fine and dandy because the alt-right are looking for anything that back a racist or sexist or anti-trans conclusion, even when the studies conclusion doesn't really support that. I usually agree with the "American democratic liberals" in these cases.

But most social/political "studies" are pretty much junk, "we surveyed 100 young people in one city and now we think we know what the whole of American youth think"... Right.. sure you do.

Plus history is one of the most contentious topics in all of... Well history ironically. You can't just point to the winners and say "See, we won the war, so we're definitely right about the history of the country we destroyed"... Buuuut..

Then they turn around and throw a junk survey or a junk "study" that has some anti-communist rhetoric, and you explain why it is junk and how it's factually incorrect, they double down... Just like the alt-right does... Because they will believe anything that supports their anti-communist conclusions... Why does that sound familiar?

I've run through this so many times before, between anti-China "studies" and anti-Soviet rhetoric. They're so willing to just blindly accept anything that the USA says, even stuff said during the Red Scare, for which even most of them will even admit was a time of deep propaganda. Exposing CIA declassified documents sometimes works, but often doesn't anyway. How many times I've heard about "holodomor" or "Stalin killed more people than Hitler". It's just so aggravating.

End rant; have a good day

By the way, if you made it this far, I really appreciate this community because on the whole, people are willing to listen and talk to people so long as we are approached in good faith. We tend not to just spit on someone for asking an honest question (But it is totally funny to spit on someone who is clearly just an anti-commie fascist or something).

So without giving away any personal information, I am a software developer in the United States, and as part of my job, I am working on some AI stuff.

I preliminarily apologize for boiling the oceans and such, I don't actually train or host AI, but still, being a part of the system is being a part of the system.

Anywhoo.

I was doing some research on abliteration, where the safety wheels are taken off of a LLM so that it will talk about things it normally shouldn't (Has some legit uses, some not so much...), and bumped into this interesting github project. It's an AI training dataset for ensuring AI doesn't talk about bad things. It has categories for "illegal" and "harmful" things, etc, and oh, what do we have here, a category for "missinformation_dissinformation"... aaaaaand

Shocker There's a bunch of anti-commie bullshit in there (It's not all bad, it does ensure LLMs don't take a favorable look at Nazis... kinda, I don't know much about Andriy Parubiy, but that sounds sus to me, I'll let you ctrl+f on that page for yourself).

Oh man. It's just so explicit. If anyone claims that they know communists are evil because an "objective AI came to that conclusion itself" you can bring up this bullshit. We're training AI's to specifically be anti-commie. Actually, I always assumed this, but I just found the evidence. So there's that.

Other people can give more thorough answers than me than I can, but since I'm first I'll go ahead and say that I begin by asking them if they know what the national peoples congress is. They nearly always say no. Then I ask them if they know what the Politburo is and all of the layers of it. They usually say no. I'll give them a short primer if they're still interested that the National People's Congress are direct people's representatives voted in layers.

If they haven't heard of anything and they're at least kind of curious, I'll tell them to start there because there's actually a lot more voting going on than people think. You'll never convince someone in one conversation that a country that they believe is not democratic, is actually democratic. But this is enough to get them to question things, and that's pretty much how I started, so hopefully it helps others that I talk to.

If they're willing to continue listening, then I mentioned that the government has a over 90% approval rate and has for a very long time. If I'm paying attention to the news lately and I've heard good things that liberals would actually support coming out of China, I will usually mention those. The most recent one about the workers' rights to have a council on their board of directors in every company, that kind of stuff.

The hard one for people to get past is democratic centrism, but they need to learn a little bit about what communism actually is before they can stomach that. That usually comes off as anti-democratic. When in reality, it's just a good fucking idea. They just need a better theoretical basis before accepting that democratic centrism is necessary to keep the peace.

If who I'm talking to is pretty pissy about United States democracy, then I usually put my thumb on that scale and ask them if they think that two parties trying to sabotage each other all the time is really a good strategy. Even if Democrats get something passed, if the Republicans turn around and spoil the barrel with their bad apples, then nothing can get done anyway. Even when you pass policy, it tends not to work.

If they're a gun-toten red-blooded American, I'd probably just stick to the workers' rights stuff. How their middle class alone is bigger than the entire United States population, and is growing, not shrinking as it is in the United States.

God damn it, this is how fascism really takes hold, when the fake communist start winning seats. They build up a bunch of momentum and then they suddenly "flip" (To their true form) at the last second and start killing people.

Am I crazy about this? Is something like this worse than a public nazi being in an office seat?

Unsure about how "important" this seat is. I'm more worried about the trend. If the only "commies" getting seats are ACP reactionaries, when real communists won't be able to distinguish themselves from them in the public eye.

Also, how the fuck are they so effective? It seemed like mere months ago ACP began. How the fuck are they able to get any seat with the term "communist" in their party name? Regardless of their reactionary status, to normal people, the big C word is a no-no.

Final free thought: I know commies aren't gunning for office most of the time, and that is fine. Building community, unions, and being in the streets, is more effective. But having some office seats could lead to small-but-useful changes, especially since this is a legal-adjacent seat.

I ain't young, but this is my first election where I am a real lefty, and... Has it always been this bad?

The liberal seething is just disgusting right now. You can't be on any place of the internet that has any discussion about politics whatsoever.

If you suggest that the Democrats should be better, then you get called out for trying to make Trump president

If you respond that now is the time to actually put pressure on candidates because they're running for office and in any fucking reasonable place, this is where they would make campaign promises and you can demand stuff out of them, then they say that you're being a fascist.

The liberal propaganda is just mind numbing.

Even the traditionally leftist places on Reddit (a place I visit very infrequently, so small changes add up over time when I visit and see the crazies have come out of the woodworks) are getting inundated with a bunch of "but the GOP is worse", and "we have to compromise" and blah blah blah. Even in some commie spaces.

Like I understand not being a doomer, and trying to actually make things better in the meantime while we build forces for the revolution, but holy shit, it's like Anyone to the right of Marxist Leninists have immediately caved to pressure.

Apparently, he didn't get that close before he was caught in the bushes at Trump's Mar-a-Lago golf course. Shots were fired, but it might have just been shots between Secret Service and him. The shooter was caught after a camera picked up his license plate after somebody took a picture of his car as he was fleeing.

Article title: Ex-Google CEO says successful AI startups can steal IP and hire lawyers to ‘clean up the mess’

Okay, I editorialized the title a bit. Basically, Eric Schmidt said that if you were to build a competitor to TikTok after it gets banned using AI, then you could just steal all of the IP, and if your company was not successful, then nobody really cares. But if your company was successful, then you would have the money to pay off the lawyers to get you out of a jam.

It is a rather obvious acknowledgment that money and success tend to generate more money and success. One can engage in dishonest acts, cheating, stealing IP, etc. as long as they possess the money to hire lawyers to get themselves out of the situation.

They even took down the talk from YouTube because of how bad it looked.

And I thought Musk and Trump were the only one stupid enough to admit the obviously evil shit.

Just heard about this organization called Operation Olive Branch. They claim they are:

Grassroots movement to support & amplify aid requests of Palestinian families.

Since I know a lot of organizations like this can be fishy, and/or outright scams, so I'm wondering if people have experience with, them or have any reason not to trust them.

Thanks all.

A cybersecurity company started by 4 Israeli military officials is going to be potentially acquired by Google for $23 billion.

Anyone that tells you that Israel and America don't collude is either bullshitting you, or incredibly uninformed.

America keeps Israel going, without the USA it would fall instantly due too it's apartheid. Their genocidal military sets them up to be capitalist billionaires.

Remember kids, they don't fight fair. You don't have too either.

It's a personal story and he goes through a bit slow but he does get to the point. Basically capitalism has ruined medicine and the actual ways to solve most medical issues cannot be recommended because they don't make a lot of money.

Obvious bullshit is obvious, but i don't have time to track down the source of this. They say every conspiracy theory starts with a grain of truth, but of course it doesn't have too!

Anyone know what three libs are talking about here? A misunderstanding or just a lie?

Hey all, if there is a better place to put this, please let me know.

jewish community foundation of los angeles

Does anyone have any knowledge about the donors or donor history from this group? Looks like they are very tight lipped about who donates to them, though it appears to be over a thousand sources and millions of dollars. Helping out a friend look into some background information.

Remember boys and girls amd non-binaries, both sides of the American political spectrum will say or do anything to get into power. Once there, they will abandon all previous statements and do whatever the fuck they want.

Damn it that's amazing. A dedicated hotline that I guarantee doesn't make any money, that is just meant to serve the people. Fantastic service. It helps answer the question about how the CPC keeps its pulse on the public. Thats a hard thing to do!

Damn it Yogthos, every time you post something awesome about China, I feel a little bit more sad about living in North America. Mostly kidding. It's kind of my good news of the day when I see stuff like this. It's a constant reminder that humanity doesn't suck. Just capitalism.

Lets fffffffuuckinnnnn GOOOOOOOOOOO

If the motherfucking liberals could get past their goddamn sinophobia, I think this set of laws would be exceptionally well received in the USA (Yes, yes. I know the alt-right and the Conservatives, and even the Democrats would have all kinds of problems with this. I'm just saying that if the Liberals weren't so dumb... They want workers rights, don't they?).

Edit: further clarity, I'm thinking this is the kind of thing that if you explained it as an idea, most progressives would say "yeah, that sounds great, but it will never happen..." kind of thing. Motherfuckers, this is what happens when the progressives are actually in charge! Even if the changes are slow to come, big moves like this are possible in one swoop! Furthermore, I still keep the word "critical" in "critical support of China" in mind. But "support" is winning today comrades!

[-] [email protected] 47 points 1 year ago

Well fuck instead of denying it, now they're just embracing it.

Hopefully history will remember this.

[-] [email protected] 43 points 1 year ago

Remember everyone, when a liberal tells you that you're cherry picking, and just citing your own sources, and ignoring Wikipedia, and are biased... Just remember that they all do the exact same thing, even in their professional media.

[-] [email protected] 47 points 1 year ago

I've seen people not only not get banned, but get cheered on greatly, for calling for the death penalty against Communists, Russians, Arabs, etc.

Fuck us for pushing back against genocide, am I right?

[-] [email protected] 52 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

Ah yes, banning outsiders from having sex with your women. Totally not something fascists would do.

Without giving anything specific away, I am a software developer and a consultant, and mostly work on web stuff.

I'll try to keep this short, but in general, yes. Basically, computers keep getting faster, which allows software developers to use higher-level libraries, which are actually less efficient, and thus your average piece of software actually takes more processing power and RAM than back in the day.

As well, because of those high-level libraries, programming is a lot easier than it used to be. Unfortunately, that means that we just hire cheaper developers that aren't as skilled, and they have a harder time tracking down and fixing bugs. Which is doubly worse because those higher-level libraries are black boxes, and you can't always fix things that arise inside of them easily.

But software development companies have basically figured out that shitty software doesn't really hurt their bottom line in the end. For the most part, people will use it if it's a name brand piece of software, like Google or Apple or Microsoft. They don't need to build high quality software because it's basically going to be used by default. The money will come in if you corner a market or if you build something unique, or contract with another business. It doesn't actually have to be high quality.

As well, websites make more money the more ads you put on them. So it doesn't matter how efficient you build it, it's going to be slow. And it doesn't matter how slow it is, because you're going to make more money the more ads and tracking you have. All you need is good search engine optimization and you will get traffic by default. SEO Is easier said than done, but the point is nobody really focuses on performance when it's more profitable to focus on search engines.
