"Telling people to read is ableist" is a terrible argument in the age of audiobooks, well made agitprop tiktoks and AI summaries (I don't condone the last one I'm just trying to make a point).

The only excuse is being blind, deaf and having no feeling in your fingers. Then I can believe it's ableist. But if you're on bsky then at least one of those isn't true.

No clue, but the reason is there regardless lmao

I enjoy that one of the reasons for defederating with lemmygrad is "hosted in Norway".

What's the best way to read Gramsci in English? He's not on marxists.org and I've never found another way to read the prison notebooks for free. Buying isn't an option where I live.

As much as I agree with you, I would be careful with saying "I will never stop being a communist" and "they just weren't socialist enough". When I left a religious cult there came very similar arguments from people who are still in it now. They "will be Christian forever" and anyone who leaves the church "just didn't believe enough"

Note that I do in fact agree with you here, it seems strange to change your analysis of the world and believe that all opinions are equal and valuable. They aren't. But we also need to be aware of ourselves and our susceptibility to propaganda from the other side too. We are not immune and it's important to show caution.

I was planning on doing low difficulty anyway; I'd much rather enjoy the game than get frustrated all the time because I'm dying 😁

Brilliant, exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Thank you!

I love Baldur's Gate 3, it's easily one of my favourite games ever. But I've never really played the first two games in the series. Without getting into any spoilers, would a ranger (or archer) elf be a good option for a first character? Any tips to enjoy the game more?
