So now that Form 1 approvals are rolling in, I thought we should have a place to catalog what descriptions, build methods, pictures, etc are getting approved. I know it would be a help to me as a first timer on this side of things, so surely it would help others as well.

In my case I have my trust setup and I’ve submitted my Form 4’s for transferring existing items to it. I’m ready to move on to Form 1’s for Suppressors and SBR’s.

I started working on my first Form 1 for a printed suppressor and the first hurdle I’ve run into is what to put in description box, and what needs to be uploaded for the pictures of materials, build methods etc. I started looking around and it seems to vary wildly with what people have submitted, but most of those instances never included whether or not it was approved.

So, what have you submitted for your builds that actually resulted in an approval??

Sunlu E2, or cheap lab oven? (forum.guncadindex.com)

So I’ve been trying to decide which way to go. I want to start playing with the nylons but my current air fryer / dehydrator setup can’t hit the temps needed. So I’ve been trying to decide which of these two to invest in.

The benefit of the E2 is the ability to print directly from it, including its ability to do so with 3kg spools.

The benefit of the lab oven is much higher temps in case future filaments come out that require even higher temps.

The negative for the E2 is I’ve read some build quality issues in the reviews.

I can’t really see any negatives for the cheap lab oven other than no way to print from it.

Thoughts? Opinions? What have I overlooked? What’s the better option for our purposes?

Thanks in advance!

So here is my scenario: I currently posses 2 stamps submitted by me as an individual. I plan on submitting several form 1’s for diy cans and a few sbr’s in the very near future. I would like to setup an NFA Gun Trust for use/access by multiple users and for ease of passing the items on when I die.

My questions:

  1. I’ve read you don’t want to add trustees until after your forms have been approved, otherwise ALL trustees have to submit paperwork, prints etc for each form. Is this accurate?
  2. If Q1 above is accurate, can you establish a trust with just yourself on it, no trustees?
  3. If the answer to Q2 is yes, it would seam the easiest course of action would be to setup my trust with just myself, once that’s complete submit two form 4’s to transfer my existing items into the trust, submit my flurry of form 1’s through the trust (not as an individual), wait for all approvals to come through, then when I’m satisfied I am done submitting forms (for the time being of course) amend the trust to add my trustees. Does that sound accurate?
  4. If the answer to Q2 above is no, then what is the best course of action to accomplish my end goal?
  5. I have read that to establish the trust I will have to file for a EIN from the IRS, and that I will need to open a bank account to fund the trust. Is that accurate?
  6. I have read that you shouldn’t purchase NFA items that are being added to the trust with your own money, you should only use the bank account which was opened by the trust. Is that accurate?
  7. What kind of tax filing is required once a trust has been established? Or is there any tax filing required?
  8. What else do I need to know or keep in mind for this venture?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I have a lead on a really cheap, basically new Stonylab 24l bench top vacuum oven like this one: Stonylab Vacuum Oven I am curious if this would be a good option for drying and annealing filaments and prints for our purposes?

Temps and internal chamber dimensions seem conducive to the purpose. Not sure if the vacuum part helps or not.. I have an Amazon vacuum pump already if it would work with this unit.

The price would be about $200 after gas, but it’s a four hour drive each way to pick it up.

Would this work? A good option? A pain in the ass to use? Not worth the effort? I’m out of my element here..

Thanks in advance!

Colt smg mag builds? (forum.guncadindex.com)

Just curious if there are any designs out there that use the 9mm colt smg stick mags? I’m still new to using the seas, but my search wasn’t able to come up with anything.

Thanks in advance!
