Most of my "reading" is via audiobooks so I'm a fan. I'm busy and don't have a lot of time to sit and read, but I spend hours every day on activities that don't require my full focus. Audiobooks are a great way to make the time go by faster.

Listening to an audiobook feels different than reading, but a good narrator can create an engaging and immersive experience.

That is true, but vowels are rarely included in published or written Hebrew. Readers determine the correct word through context, familiarity and grammar rules that can hint at the missing vowel.

I browse both my subscribed feed and the all feed depending on my mood. If a community is particularly obnoxious it gets blocked, otherwise I just ignore it when I'm browsing all. Most of my blocks are meme, tankie and NSFW communities.

I knew someone was going to ask that and I'm going to give you the lame answer that I don't remember for sure. It's been a while since I used my Chromebook, but it was a fairly mainstream application that wasn't compiled for ARM. I ended up using the Flatpak version, which worked fine but was a resource hog on an ARM Chromebook with only 4GB of RAM.

Not necessarily worse, but more ambiguous than if I say something is good.

I think it depends on what sort of content is posted. If it's mostly promotional stuff some people may feel that it doesn't fit the vibe of Mastodon. If it's thought-provoking content (especially journalism) then it will be a win. Either way, having The BBC on Mastodon seems like a big deal, to me, and maybe it will induce other journalists to explore the fediverse.

Most WWII fighters were basically large engines with the smallest possible airframe fit around them. The only armaments typically carried were guns, so they were light, fast and nimble.

I've always used Xubuntu. It's reasonably lightweight and the Ubuntu USB creator does the heavy lifting for creating persistence. The only downside is you have to have a running instance an Ubuntu flavor (bare metal, VM or USB) to use the tool.

Hey @[email protected], would you please consider cross-posting some of your military aircraft photos to [email protected]? Would love to have more people participating in the community.

I didn't hate The Martian, but I did not love it. I really liked Project Hail Mary, though. The sciencey stuff was still there, but it was bolted on to a much more compelling and interesting story.
