This is good advice, all of it. I’ve lost 12 lbs in the last 6 weeks or so counting calories. I already work a physical job so I haven’t added an exercise routine, but I feel better and it’s been pretty easy.

It’s also helped me drink less. Hard to drink more than one beer when each one is 200+ calories.

Yo I can relate to how you felt and also work these kinds of jobs with these kinds of coworkers. Just don’t even acknowledge it in the future. If they tease you about it just try and laugh along, don’t get upset. That way you become part of the joke instead of the joke.

It’s shitty humans are like this but I learned that from years of being sensitive and getting upset instead of just trying not to take myself as seriously. I know how much it sucks to be laughed at while having bad anxiety but just remember, everyone gets laughed at sometimes. No one can go their entire life without making mistakes or whatever. You still have value as a person.

I meant with regards to intersex "correction" surgery. I think everyone knows how common circumcision is.

Just finished reading this. Like others have said a lot of the Marxist stuff won’t be anything new to anyone on this site, but as a cishet man the “portraits” of the different lgbt+ perspectives really stuck out to me. I could read hundreds of pages of different voices talking about their lives and the oppression they faced. They were inspiring and heartbreaking and really helped me empathize better with the struggles lgbtq+ people deal with. Wish there were more of them in the book.

Also the chapter on intersex people really fucked me up and pissed me off. I wasn’t aware of how common genital mutilation was performed on newborns, wtf.
