Shorts should have been a different app in the first place
For those not in the know:
Swartz's involvement in Reddit is debated. He is considered the co-founder of Reddit by Y Combinator owner Paul Graham as a result of the merger of Swartz's project Infogami and Reddit. With the merger of Infogami and Reddit, Swartz became a co-owner and director of parent company Not A Bug, Inc., along with Reddit cofounders Steve Huffman and Alexis Ohanian. Ohanian considers Swartz a co-owner of Reddit.
This is total alarmist misinformation. The "evidence of terrorism" was not "using Signal" or "carrying a first aid kit", it was taking part in an armed assault on an immigration facility where a dozen people set off fireworks and shot a police officer with an AR-15.
The prosecution used the presence of the first aid kit they carried during their armed assault, along with actual messages (not metadata) from a Signal chat to make the case that the attackers planned on using violence.
There are a lot of problems with this case, IMO the most dangerous part here is that adds legitimacy the (false) idea that "antifa" is an organization that exists. Something the Trump administration has been struggling to prove. This X post takes small details out of context.

Don't trust anything ever posted to X. Especially something that discourages the use of private messaging apps.

I highly recommend everyone report this this post to your admins and strongly recommend all instance admins ban/warn accounts like OP. If we want the fediverse to catch on it needs to be more factual, not knee jer.
Someone once said to me "If a creative project is of high quality, the longer you look at it the more details you'll notice. If it's bad, the longer you look at it, the more detail you notice is missing."
And I think that about sums it up. AI slop is programmed to be eye catching but can't produce much detail beyond that.
After Silksong, Lethal Company and Content Warning were my two most played games in 2025.
I agree that calling these low-poly multiplayer games "slop" is terrible, because there is clearly a ton of love and effort poured into them. I hope the name doesn't catch on.
Linux holds a 63% share of global server infrastructure.
How is that not 95%?
This is hilarious to me so I looked up the original article and I am pretty sure that it is largely written by AI.
Also, not that it needs or deserves any kind of analysis, but the central premise (as much as I can decipher from all the ChatGPT fluff) appears to be: "Because Trekkies are conservative, Star Trek is doing everything it can to make men hate it." which obviously makes no sense. Why would a company create a piece of media knowing it would be unpopular with it's core demographic?
Anyway thanks for the laugh, OP.
LLMs cannot lie/gaslight because they do not know what it means to be honest. They are just next-word predictors.
I think the ads are terrible too, but it's a fool's errand to try and rationalize with an LLM chatbot
