Year in Review.

Including two popes, the Prince of Darkness, and MrBeast.

Wikipedia will mark its 25th anniversary on January 15, 2026. No one could have predicted 25 years ago that Wikipedia would grow into the backbone of knowledge on the internet it is today—powering search engines, voice assistants, and generative AI tools.

Today, nearly 250,000 volunteers generously give their time and energy to update Wikipedia, add citations, build consensus, and more. They keep knowledge human. In 2025, people spent an estimated 2.4 billion hours reading English Wikipedia articles, according to data from the Wikimedia Foundation, the nonprofit that operates Wikipedia and other Wikimedia free knowledge projects. The top 20 most-read English Wikipedia articles of 2025 outlined below focus on politics, popular culture, and loss.

No way.....

My nemesis?

In all seriousness, most communities feel buggy on my instance(I need to find them manually on my instance) and some moderators on Lemmy seem to get a hit of dopamine when they remove any post or comment on their community.

My answer to all of this is that I just use the shitpost community for everything.

That solution seems super perfect for me.

  • My instance does not accept me uploading photos.
  • Imgur is blocked in the UK.
  • Imgbb is too fucking slow when uploading.

That leave me with very few options.

I think FUTO is very shady company from my reading about it.

I am not saying they are evil, but they are very sus.

UK now requires a lot of websites to age check their users.

What happened is that a lot of websites either had to implement a way to check users ages or block users from UK completely.

A good example here is Imgur which blocked UK users. What inspired this meme for me is this blog post posted on Hacker news.

I will start.

My country is called the mother of the world.

In my country, you don't ask where should I put this?

Also when you want to degrade, insult or like offend a person hardly you tell him "your mother pussy".

A famous rapper from my country once made a song that he does not have a Facebook account.

A comedian from my country once made a song called "You(She) are any words" where the song is the title repeated till the end to prove that anything can become famous.

I originally posted this in the Technology community, but I was told to post here instead.

I think we are slowly witnessing the downfall of Reddit.
