How did we move from talking about allowing kids to walk alone in the street and public transports, to you talking about workers rights ? Especially since on this topic, the US is also very bad in regards to workers rights.

Japan is insane then.

Yeah. I use KeepassXC on my computers and KeepassDX on my phone. All synced with syncthing and it works great.

All of these examples are good only if you think that we need to have access to everything as soon as possible. It can definitely be convenient at times, but it also feels like most of the time it actually ends up being forced on you, when in truth, life shouldn't require that we get money straight away, nor that we have to follow the best possible itineary. Being able to take our time to do things is to me the thing that we are actually missing nowadays.

Apart from health related things, anything else are just gadgets that don't really improve life IMHO.

I don’t think the lemmy interface tells you the number of active users for in instance

I think what you see on the main page (at the bottom right, just below the instance description/rules) is the instance's specific stats.

Yes because you've obviously met every single person in France and have been in every single region...

I still play Old School RuneScape and Guild Wars 2, and they are both very active.

However, I've not tried a new MMORPG in ages. I don't even really know if any relatively new ones could be interesting to try out.

I've been using it for about a week, both at work and at home, and I must say that it is great. It is nearly everything that I wanted from a browser. Especially since it is based on Firefox.

I've been so happy with it, that I even donated to the project.

Hi everyone,

I know that it is probably unusual to see posts about non-English communities here, but many French-speaking people probably follow c/newcommunities. If this is against the rules, don't hesitate to remove this post.

[email protected] is similar to [email protected] and [email protected]. However, we try to focus more on issues found in French-speaking countries. We also want to be as open as possible to people that don't yet know that we can build a society where the car is not the centre of it. As such, we chose a less aggressive name for our community.

While Jitsi is open-source, most people use the platform they provide, meet.jit.si, for immediate conference calls. They have now introduced a "Know Your Customer" policy and require at least one of the attendees to log in with a Facebook, Github (Microsoft), or Google account.

If you prefer not to self-host Jitsi and be identifiable via your domain, there's jami.net as a replacement for Jitsi. It is a decentralized conference app that requires you to install an app. However, it's open-source and account creation is optional. It's available for all major platforms (Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS, Android), including on F-Droid.

I don't know if it's an issue on my side, or if it's normal behaviour, but I don't see any indicator telling me that a previously read post has new comments.

Both lemmy-ui and Jerboa give me that information, which is really useful to know when to come back to a post.
