Thanks, I had fun! I don't know that I'm quite happy with my time, but I ended up in the top-10 for the event in this race so I can't be too mad.

I've got my first road race in about a decade tomorrow. Not that I haven't been running in that period, but I haven't done any races.
I originally wanted to run the half marathon, but I've been struggling with shin splints for most of the year and I was struggling to ramp up my mileage during training. Ultimately I decided to do the next tier down which was disappointingly only an 8K, but I'm still excited. Next year I'll be ready for the half!
It doesn't cause panic, but I don't back up my photos on my Google drive because I don't want to and I don't need to. So every time it forces me to accidentally turn it on, the sooner I stop it the fewer pictures I need to individually delete from my drive. It's a massive hassle that shouldn't happen.
Can they also stop harassing me to turn it on? The placement of the accept button is idiotic too because it's directly over where the normal nav options are. I accidentally turn it on all the time, need to frantically stop the backup, and then log into the desktop site to delete the photos it grabbed. It's extremely annoying.
Just go for it and walk around with it! You can always take it off with a little bit a acetone and a minutes effort if you don't like it!
Having your nails painted isn't nearly as scary as it sounds. You might get a second glance sometimes, but mostly people don't really care and it's all in your head. Mine are a nice flashy corral color right now and I haven't had any negative interactions. In a worst case you just kind of get the feeling that people are actively trying to not comment on it.
It honestly works great as a good social filter. Sometimes I'll run into a cashier or someone similar in passing who seems uncomfortable with it(usually older folks), but it's otherwise a good way to find other queer folks or allies in the wild and start a conversation.
That song is actually a reference to the older video that I linked to. It shows the original creator, JT Sexkik as a credit in the beginning.
It's a reference to a meme video of someone reading misspelled Yahoo answer users asking pregnancy questions. It's quite entertaining.
YouTube Link to the video in question.
Hahaha there was no animosity. We just had a gentlemans agreement to not play and let the NPC's win. Sometimes that was favorable for you, sometimes it wasn't, but it was pretty fair over the course of the entire game.
Those mini-games where you had to quickly rotate were banned in my house. They absolutely destroyed the analog stick of my controllers.
You've done nothing wrong, however even if your question is not political certain people will try to make it political. Things will calm down a bit in about a month.
A lot of details regarding day to day Chinese life is not available to the Western world. You may have trouble finding an answer that's based on actual evidence, but people are very similar despite where they live and their motives will be comparable. People here will definitely be able to help you in that regard.
The search in Jerboa is...limited. It searches on community name(not display name) and it will only show about a dozen of the largest communities as results and nothing more. You essentially need to already know what you're looking for to find a great deal of value from it.
You really have to search for communities externally if you're looking for something that isn't a niche interest. There's a small handful of directory sites that help with this, but I can't for the life of me remember them at the moment if someone can help me out ๐
Edit: Mentaledge beat me too it. Lemmyverse.net is the largest of them.
