No worries, thank you!

First off, could you clear up some confusion for me? The question just before this one talks about another artist pretty much making your sona entirely themselves and you not knowing how to draw, but this question says you're a no name artist. I suppose you don't have to be a visual artist specifically, but the way it's worded makes it sound as if you are a visual artist here, but not in the other question you posted in the same hour.

Second off, I absolutely do not recommend approaching someone about similar looking designs unless you were absolutely sure they were deliberately copying your artwork. There are countless anthro designs by so many people, and unless you're doing something incredibly complex and specialized, it is no surprise you will find similar character designs out there. There's only so many ways you can draw a blue dog or a purple fox before characters could be mistaken for one another at a glance. I've seen sonas similar to mine before, and I am absolutely certain I will again. Hell I've seen people with fox sonas named Foxfire lmao, it just happens.

If you're unsure about a situation, you can always try to envision yourself on all sides of it. Imagine you posted some WIP artwork of your sona online, and someone you didn't recognize asked that you changed your identity in some way because your character shares similar traits to theirs (e.g. colors, some markings), or maybe even the same name. Is this something you'd want to constantly have to worry about whenever you express yourself through art? Does it feel like a positive space to share your creative work in?

If you mean a drawing tablet, I also vouch for Krita. It's free and open source, so you can use it right away however you'd like. It has all the general tools you'd expect for drawing with a tablet and plenty of resources and documentation too!

If you mean something like an android tablet, I do see a build of Krita on F-Droid (a FOSS only app store), but I haven't ever tried it. Barring that or iPad maybe ibisPaint? It's proprietary but free to access basic tools, and could get you started exploring and creating.

Hi, such a cute drawing! Thanks for sharing your art, and your sona!

Thanks for finding the artist, I appreciate it!

Flags are a great simple option for sure. I was also thinking of the classic crewmate pixel art or loss. The latter two could be done within two weeks, the rainbow pride flag would likely be a few weeks to start looking like a flag, but still reasonable.

If anyone draws up coords I'll support any of these kind of things, but we gotta agree on one first.

Also @[email protected], so you both get pinged for the reply.

While this is true, there's opportunities for stuff to be drawn in far less time than that. With some coordination, some small pixel drawings could be made in a week or two.

To our fallen soldiers, know that Luigi appreciates your resistance against adversity. Luigi respects your contributions to incremental change. Luigi knows perfect is the enemy of good, and just how much we need good right now. Do not feel shame in failure, but solace in knowing you tried in earnest.

Awesome to hear! If even one decides to show up that wouldn't otherwise, it's a win, especially when everyone does their part.

Absolutely, and thank you! I hope someone finds it useful. I made this mainly because I hadn't seen vote related art on Mastodon, and hope that if more creatives state they voted through art, that others will be reminded. I figured making a freely licensed sticker could maybe streamline that, so people could do what they pleased without much extra effort.

Thank you very much! The more turnout the better, especially for this election. Glad to have sent it off and confirmed it's been accepted.
