In a work for hire contract, the contract explicitly states that the employer gets the copyright.

You can think of the compensation as being partly from employment, and partly from the sale of any copyright.

And arguably, neither the image generator did. Who did were the artists

In which case, neither the image generator nor its operator are eligible for copyright.

The same reasoning still applies to Stable Diffusion etc., given that you can heavily tweak the output through your prompt.

The point is that the AI generator (or, if you prefer, its training data) exercised direct control over the image, not you. Providing additional prompts does not change this, just as rerolling the dice wouldn't make the dice the author.

For that matter, gives extensive prompts or other artistic direction to a human artist would not make you eligible for copyright, either. Even if the artist was heavily influenced by your suggestions.

Finally, choosing one among many completed works is not a creative process, even if it requires artistic judgment. Choosing repeatedly does not transform it into a creative process. That's why choosing your favorite song does not mean you are a song creator.

So if someone asks you to paint something and gives you detailed instructions about what they want to see in your painting, do you think they should have copyright over your work?

Not quite. If by "edge" you mean the surface of the earth, then the force of gravity from the closer edge will always exactly offset the gravity from the farther edge. So if the earth were hollow, then you would experience zero gravity at any point in the hollow portion.

Of course, the earth is not hollow. And any mass under you (i.e. closer to the center than you are) will not be offset, and all of it will pull you towards the center. As you move further away from the center, more of the earth's mass will be closer to the center than you and therefore the force of gravity will increase.

Democrats do plenty, especially at the local level.

The problem is that some voters have barely the attention span necessary to watch an entire TikTok video. They start complaining unless they see something new in their feed every day so they can click "like".

But that's not how democracy works, in fact that's never been how it worked. To take just one example, abortion opponents developed a long term strategy that only came to fruition after several decades.

That's who you're up against: people who know how to play the long game. So if you are frustrated by a lack of short term gains, then you aren't cut out for American politics.

Democrats had a supermajority for only ten months, and in that time they managed to pass a major piece of legislation on a highly controversial topic.

If you expected more than one in that time frame, then you really don't understand how American politics works.

It means drawing legislative districts for political advantage. But elections for the Presidency and Senate ignore legislative district maps.

Because it's perverse for someone to create content if successful content will surely be stolen and used against its creator.

There are several situations in which HIPAA allows doctors to disclose your protected health information without your consent. One of the exceptions involves law enforcement. Democrats are trying to close that loophole, at least for enforcement of out of state abortion laws.

Self harm falls into the "mandated reporting" category, one of the few things that is not only unprotected but actually must be reported.

This is yet another attempt by Big Bang skeptics to make a fringe alternative theory ("tired light") relevant.

Physicists have been pointing out the flaws in this theory for nearly 100 years. Given the overall success of the Big Bang model, I'm betting on "or not".

Exactly. And so if anyone ever asks "Why weren't Biden or Pence indicted?", you'll know the answer. They didn't lie about their documents and they didn't get in the way when the government took them back.

In case anyone is wondering, "Why was nobody charged for taking them?", the answer is probably intent. Trump, Biden, and Pence could all claim that they weren't responsible for removing the documents. But of those three, only one of them is on tape saying something like, "Yeah, I've still got these secret documents that I probably should have given back". He's the one they indicted.

The accident damaged more then just the fender:

A key reason is that the accident damaged a sleek panel that extends from the truck’s rear to front roof pillars. Repairing and repainting it set off a cascade of pricey work, including removing the interior ceiling material, known as the headliner, and front windshield.
