So not everywhere in Europe is right wing (but there are similar trends in certain countries like the US). If the US falls, Europe will be the last stronghold for democracy (which might also fail in a few years).

Have thought we are going to win this league since the start of the season. My friends said I was crazy. They are now saying it’s on.

Still a long way to go. But it’s on.

They could easily have had two reds and another penalty. Young could have got sent off earlier. So they can moan all they want.

I strangely think it was one of the best ref performances we’ve had this season.

I understand why gravenbach should come in. Think elliot did well given the circumstances (and basically assured the goal). Hopefully he isn’t deflated by the sub.

Letting in a poor goal and turning it to a lead.

Business as usual.

While also being a cracking game of two really good teams. Brighton have nullified our midfield a lot. They’ve hardly had any chances as well. Very cagey (and somehow three goals).

It’s nice being nervous (compared to deflated when this fixture was in the spring).

Let’s go red men!

What a pass by Mac Allister!

Great 2nd half.

Lots of good performances. But a lot of performances were a little bipolar (some things were great other things were awful): Diaz, Elliot and Gravenberch spring to mind here. Sometimes they did mind boggling amazing football (Eg Elliot for our first two goals, gravenberch for the 2nd), but sometimes just too sloppy.

7/10 today.

It was also our hardest game in the group stage. So all in all, I am happy.

It was a cracking goal to be fair.

But we should have a scored one of our chances

While obviously I’d rather have the CL, I think this is going to be fun playing new teams instead of just playing Napoli every year.

And a really exciting line up.

Called it (but for the wrong game)

I didn’t think Konate would be back though so I assumed Gomez was CB.

So just over a week to the next season. There are likely 1-3 more people coming through the door. But despite that uncertainty (and putting transfers to one side), what do you hope happens this season? What is a good season? What is acceptable?

For me:

  • Part of a clear top 3. (Hopefully more than that)
  • our exit from the EL has to be against a good team if we don’t win it.
  • hopefully good domestic cup runs (but they always depend on the draw).

I trust Klopp regardless of how many more get signed.

How is everyone else feeling?

Not sure if people are around/watching but let’s try. Let’s discuss the game.

Liverpool team:

Kelleher

Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

Alexander-Arnold, Clark, Szoboszlai

Salah, Nunez, Diaz

(Formation is a guess/based on LFCTV)

Subs: Jaros, Mrozek, Gomez, Mac Allister, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Matip, Scanlon, Doak, McConnell, Koumas, Quansah.

Kick off: 1730 (UK time)

Some news

  • Henderson has not traveled.

  • Trent seems like he is starting in midfield.

  • Ali apparently has a slight knock and left out as a precaution.

  • 2 x 45 minute teams likely.

  • First match in Karlsruher's new stadium, so it is a big sold out event for them
