half of the conservative bourgeoisie think the other half are baby-eating commie jew paedophiles

I'm a bit of a doomer when it comes to the potential of the American conservative movement to birth a violent revolution. Nothing Ever Happens Gang, take heed:

January 6th 2021 proved two things to me; first, there is latent revolutionary potential among the conservative bourgeoisie in America. They are willing to fight and die to bring about a utopian future being promised to them by QAnon, they just lack cohesion and a vanguard faction. The blackshirts are ready, they just need their Mussolini.

Second, it showed that the FBI and other agencies had a major blindspot for the MAGA conservatives, and weren't embedded deep enough with them to pre-empt something like J6. There are a lot of theories that they must have known but just let it happen anyways to entrap people. But frankly when I see a situation that could be explained by the government having either godlike super-prescience 47D Chess skills as part of a trap, or by organisational incompetence like we saw with the Secret Service back in July in Butler-- I stick with 'incompetence'. It's a lot more

These two things create a perfect storm for the savvier and more prepared folks among the conservative movement. The General Flynns, the Ivan Raiklins, the Ammon and Ryan Bundys, the Dan Bonginos, and the Steve Bannons of the nation. People who want to see the current order completely overthrown, have connections throughout the right-wing media/'intellectual' worlds, and a willingness to either use violence or direct other people in using violence. All it takes is loose coordination between these kinds of people and the militia movements, and you've got the spark of something bigger beginning. A few attacks on key highways and parts of the electrical infrastructure, and they can create a huge shock across the continent that could have a ripple effect of inspiring the kinds of people who who weren't at J6 but wish they were.

If Kamala wins, I fully expect Trump to try and use legal bullshit to try and overturn it, but the conservative bourgeoisie (who fully back him in that, but want to see blood, not lawsuits) might try to kick off a rebellion out west. If they fail, MAGA will say they were feds and forget it ever happened. If they succeed, they can help Trump pressure the Biden admin to relinquish power to Trump in order to avoid a civil war redux.

if they didn't vote blue no matter who, they would be sent to concentration camps or kicked out of the US (as far as I know, even if they didn't win the presidency

you’re underestimating the willingness of the conservative movement, whether Donald J Trump is at its helm or someone else, to simply rule by decree because they know the Dems are unwilling to stop them

i mean i expect it to be completely unimaginative and shallow but still turn a profit, so anything beyond that low bar will be a win for gamers everywhere

I think the US would rather activate a different proxy vs China first, rather than having to be reactive

the US’ biggest geopolitical liability right now is that Israel holds all the cards, and chooses whether their response to Iran is designed to trigger a wider war with Iran or not. America can’t start thinking about where the next proxy war starts until they know how the Iranian-Israeli standoff evolves.

all the Biden admin have standing between them and full on war with a potentially nuclear foe is Netanyahu’s promises that he would never ever be a naughty boy

I am counting down the days until Joe Biden gets his final "Lucy will let me kick the football this time, surely" moment with Netanyahu. When Israel goes ahead and bombs energy and nuclear infrastructure or even potentially uses a nuke on Iran, even though they pinkie-promised Joe they wouldn't, it's going to cement Biden's legacy as the most ineffective leader in American history......not the measure of justice he truly deserves, but at least he'll die one day in a nursing home knowing that he will be a laughingstock for future historians, and that he fucked everything up by trusting Bibi

It sucks that everything in the Levant was totally fine before October 7th, 2023, when Hamas fell out of the coconut tree

IDF should have buried that footage 10,000 leagues under the sea. but along the way, everyone who viewed it before approving its release didn’t think of Sinwar as a human. they saw footage of a crushed bug twitching its leg, and viewed the release as a well-earned victory lap

For those of you who who do not want to actually see the video of a mortally wounded person:

the footage the IDF released is filmed from a drone, sent in to scout the ruins of a heavily damaged second floor apartment. after flying in the window, the drone searches while hovering just inside, eventually zeroing in on a man mostly obscured by the overstuffed parlour chair he has collapsed onto. at least one wound can be seen; an injury to his arm is causing blood to seep through his fatigues, staining the arm of the chair.

the wounded man makes ‘eye contact’ with the drone’s camera, before weakly picking up a scrap of metal or maybe rebar from his lap. he raises the piece of metal and throws it toward the drone, maintaining his gaze. the scrap metal is not thrown with enough force to reach the drone, but the operator swerves it backwards as a precaution. the drone stabilises, and refocuses on the wounded man, who maintains his gaze. the footage ends here.

they are absolutely not doing it for ideological purposes. CIA is by US standards pretty conservative, and has a shit ton of evangelicals and mormons. if this historically fascist organisation is promoting queer rights, they are doing it for self-serving purposes.

Socially, one of the roles assigned to clients was to promote homosexuality and make society more accepting, according to Al-Hamdani. “The embassy was supporting homosexuals through the Cultural Attaché, promoting it at the American NGO, YALI, by distributing brochures to those inclined or desiring to be homosexual, promoting it as personal freedom. They were also issuing visas under the pretext of persecution.”

Al-Hamdani isn’t the only one who spoke about the American embassy’s role in promoting homosexuality in Yemen, a practice that blatantly violates Yemeni social, tribal, and religious norms. Other spies, including Muhammad Ali Ahmed Al-Waziza, who worked with the CIA for 14 years, also mentioned this role. Al-Waziza stated,

Visas were given to gay people, and homosexuality was promoted through educational stories taught in the institutes. We had gay teachers at the institute, and the language was taught through gay and lesbian films.

Why? Why any of this? What the fuck does the CIA get out of….supporting queer rights in Yemen?
