You've rightly pointed out how ridiculous it all is, but don't underestimate the effects of tangible consequences. Hearing about the orange man's foolish actions is much more abstract than not being able to afford your next meal. You can ignore the former, but even the most extreme ignoramus has a hard time ignoring the latter...

I can absolutely see the potential for abuse and a race to produce faster agents. Now that I think about it, before too long "Time To First Token" will become an uninteresting metric, and agents will all be steerable/interruptible mid-task, enabling legit real-time language processing (as opposed to the batch-mode they currently have).

I didn't read it that way at all. Their argument sounds more like "there's nuance that you're glossing over."

It seems that we all agree PFAS are generally nasty chemicals, some worse than others. Teflon (polytetrafluoroethylene) is just one of the "nicer" ones.

You're right that it seems trolling is "weaponized" now. However, I (optimistically) don't want to (cynically) admit weaponized trolling is the rule instead of the exception.
