Yeah, LA has a fairly active anti-zionist scene. I've driven past many palestine flags on highway overpasses. They also don't like ICE much. I've seen "Fuck ICE" spray painted on the side of a bank and similar messages around.
I don't run any of my services on a VPS for privacy reasons. They all run on my own hardware completely under my control and supervision. I also don't currently have the money to pay for the extremely powerful VPS(es) I'd need to run all my services. I have over 50 running.

It's using a regular expression to rewrite the URL. The URL isn't actually getting parsed, so I can't choose what's included, it just includes everything. The proxies ignore the token anyway so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Yeah, this is the reason. TankieReplyBot used Lemmy's WebSocket API because it was far more efficient for a bot to receive events as they happen rather than constantly checking for new comments and posts. With that gone, the bot will have to be rewritten to use polling instead, and the last time I did that, it caused my IP to be rate limited within an hour and that was with a relatively long polling interval.
