I would love to see hosts start offering subscription based instances and do things like paying for regular auditing of their infrastructure to give us some assurance that our data is actually secure.

I'd legitimately pay for that.

British Food is awesome. It's not very colorful or ultra complex but it's the kinda food that warms the soul.

  • A good Sunday Roast with yorkshire pudding, lamb, roasted potatoes, peas, and gravy
  • Fish and Chips served with a good curry or mushy peas
  • Fresh warm scones with clotted cream and jam
  • A proper fry up with a cup of tea
  • Beef Wellington
  • Pie Mash
  • Meat pies
  • Bridies
  • Scotch Eggs
  • Minemeat Pies
  • Spotted Dick (Yeah yeah)
  • Treacle Tart
  • Banoffee Pie

There are few things that bring me more joy than popping into a Greggs on a cold rainy morning for an overheated cup of generic tea and a sausage roll.

Runbacks are a lame attempt at artificially increasing difficulty. I'll happily die on that hill. I love difficult games, but there is a fine line between frustration and difficult.

Elden Ring (at least all the bits I played through) and Sekiro absolutely nailed it. None of the run backs were particularly egregious, and it let me really focus on experimenting and learning to feel out the difficult fights. Celeste is another good example. I have dropped hours on some of the later levels trying to master them, but never once got frustrated.

Hollow Knight I never finished because I got stuck on a boss and the runback was just way too long and annoying. I loved everything else about the game and want to finish it eventually.

Edit: I think they have their place as "mods" that you could enable to increase difficulty, and i'd actually probably enjoy it that way. Just designing the game around them is where i draw the line.

I've spent about $125 on this game, and I would definitely get pissed if I bought in for all the promises they made.

However, I bought just to have a really pretty "Fly around in space while exploring my spaceship and listening to music" experience. It's a vibe game. If they took out all the combat and lofty goals and just focused on making a really dope spaceship sim (with all the ship management, repairs, etc that they've promised) I would probably lose my life to it.

I thoroughly support advancing the causes of feminism and women's rights across the world, and would happily listen actively to what she has to say.

But also Emma is pretty fucking hot. And that fit looks good on her.

Cool. I mean I haven't been able to get past a single 10-minute "I just want to go over the job with you and collect some basic information" phone interview in 6-months.

But ya know. Another 6,000 people on the market is cool too.

But dude, bro, we could put the entire system on the blockchain man, and make it super efficient with an AI backend that will remove all errors bro.

Dude it's not even written in Rust bro. WTF is this dinosaur shit?

Centrists don't sit in the middle of every issue or make an exact 50/50 compromise on everything.

I seriously don't understand how fucking difficult this is to understand. It's why I largely ignore political discussions on Reddit/Lemmy/all social media.

I don't look at one person saying "Murdering 5 year olds is bad", look at another person saying "Murdering 5 year olds is good!" and try to find a way where both are right.

I will spend an entire weekend ricing my desktop in just the right way.

Then I'll notice that one of my main apps doesn't adhere to the theming i've designed, or that will completely break my theming because , or If I change my wallpaper it will make my entire theme look like shit, or that my cool theme makes font unreadable on one app because it renders shit weird, or that I completely overlooked this one aspect of my workflow that my cool design fucks with.

Then I'll just say fuck it and go back to using standard Gnome.

There's an extension that lets me close and open windows with the Matrix Code Rain so I can pretend I'm cool n shit.

The Switch 2 will finally allow GameFreak to leave behind their terrible N64 visuals and adopt moderate to okay N64 visuals.

Very exciting time.

...smaller communities

So like it was before the dawn of Reddit and social media?

Sign me the fuck up. I miss my dumb little websites with a dodgy layout full of terribly cropped gifs.

That sucks and all, but to be fair this is entirely on you. They sold you a DRM-Free file and you chose to not actually use it and to rely on their servers which you have no control over. This isn't a "DRM Free" issue.

Personal ownership means you take personal responsibility for it.
