When I was like 4 I had an incredibly vivid and terrifying dream that on paper sounds absolutely ridiculous but scared the shit out of me as a kid. I dreamt that a band of orangutans had gotten into our house and were hiding all over the place: in the walls, under the kitchen table, behind the fridge, behind picture frames etc. and every now and then they'd jump out of their hiding spot and attack us. It didn't result in like a long-lasting fear or anything, in fact orangutans are my favorite animal, but to this day when I think back on that dream I feel a little hint of fear.

If this has been made a week ago I would have gotten so much mileage out of it

nazi extermination squad members receiving awards and honors? in my settler-colonial project?

It's more likely than you think. Call your local Anti-Fascist helpline to learn more!

Thanks! I hope your tour goes hard!

And omg that isn't me, I'm literally on like week 2 of learning how to make games. I'm still only working on the movement HOWEVER as soon as I have something that can be tested I'll send it your way! The vague premise I have is a vampires=bourgeoisie deal and you're a human leading a prison break from the feeding dungeons, the goal is to get to the top of the castle. That's all I have so far though

I think I'm going to try to give him one last opportunity to recognize the choice he's making, lay out that it's a choice choice between oil profits and trans rights. I normally wouldn't and maybe I'm being too generous but I don't think at his core he truly values the former more, but if that doesn't get through or it turns out I'm wrong then I'm out. Trans rights are non negotiable.

That was one of the bits that shocked me the most, when I said that he was risking the rights of people we both know and love and he essentially doubled down. He's acting like China and Russia are going to invade and occupy the fucking Yukon when all the "claims" are is access for trade and a goddamn ridge at the bottom of the sea.

Kinda reeling from a couple things that happened over the past day that has me feeling a mixture of doomer thought and that sort of spite-like motivational anger. I kinda used the megas to vent a bit but I'm still feeling it and can't immediately do anything about either event so I've been blowing off steam in the meantime by blasting loud music and working on my platformer. It's working, so great strat on my part if I do say so myself!

sadness-abysmal man, I have (had perhaps?) a lib friend who's usually very good with not being ghoulish when we talk about politics and shit, and I genuinely enjoyed discussing politics with him because he usually has some good points from a lib perspective that aren't purely liberal brainworms (though he still had a few)

But today we got talking about the Canadian conservatives and he's all of a sudden the embodiment of "scratch a liberal". He thinks they're the best way to get Trudeau out of power, and he wants him out of power because he's not doing enough to fight against Chinese and Russian presence in the arctic. He says that controlling the oil resources and fighting China and Russia is more important than fighting against the anti-trans policies and rhetoric the party is pushing. He denies that there has been a push at all, and that even if there was he doesn't think that having a PM spouting anti-trans rhetoric and passing anti-trans laws would result in a growth in anti-trans views, and also even if it did it'd "only be a few years". He said I was "fear mongering" when I started citing specific laws conservatives have passed and things conservatives have said. He's framing his support for the Tories as a "calculated risk", but he also denies that this is in any way indicative of a greater willingness to side with fascism in the face of a greater threat to profits.

Usually when I make a fascist bleed I at least expect it to happen, this was just a complete 180 in ghoulishness from someone who claims to support trans rights. Honestly shocked at how strong the flip was.

It's not even just being ignorant but confident, I saw a post on reddit-logo the other day saying "communism has never given any rights to women, why are there women communists"

Typical lib response was to ignore that it just literally isn't true and instead say that they showed token support for "propaganda". Some were even saying that the rights women had gained, such as the ability to own land, vote, and divorce, were also only done for propaganda purposes. They actively ignore the evidence presented in front of them in favour of "ooOoOOOOoOOoO COMMUNISM SPOOKY EVIL" specter
