I'm calling it now so I can link to it in 3 years, Musk is wanting to make a presidential run.

like @[email protected] said, this show has a purpose and I think Trump is planning on going even harder and now they have someone they can pass the torch off to since they've already vetted his ideology and love his money. Gotta distance yourself at some point so you can swing in and be the "savior". He can lay the whole DOGE think on the current administration getting in the way and will totally be a conservative this time. The comments and rhetoric around Elon are already starting to be softer now that he's in this feud with Trump.

Also, I don’t have a dream girl. I find the concept repulsing

proceeds to list paragraphs of demands that a woman must meet to be considered.

Good luck with all that man, I hope you can look back at this comment one day and realize how unbelievably picky you are. A partner isn't a pokemon, they're allowed to have a life while still loving and sharing a home with you.

I really don't think that's true anymore. Maybe looking at decades of political party data but I think the games kinda changed with MAGA taking repubs extreme and Dem's going center-right. There are a lot of republicans who could find a home in the democratic party since we know 2028 will see a cult leader retiring and you know the Dem's are gonna run an old white guy out of fear. I'm hoping another party can cause a splash that election cycle but I see it going blue and hopefully the infrastructure for this third-party progressive moment can become solid in local with sites on national.

I'm no longer holding out for election change. Oregon just voted against RCV, the push-back from changing the voting system is just too much for our set-in-stone political machine we have running now. I'm definitely gonna look into the data about why that went down though, a lot of opposition from Dems and Repubs in Alaska and Maine so would be interesting to see what coalesced.

Just wanted to throw in my reality living in a rural area and all the factors that lead into the same problem we have around here.

The walk to my middle school was 1 1/2 hours, 2 when distracted. All 4 lane highways, with no sidewalks. Bus drivers are in high demand with low pay/part time, bus routes can easily go into a 3 hour ride in the afternoon. There is typically 1 highschool per county (must keep the roster pool available for the sports teams), we're talking a 42 minute straight drive just to get there (so you can sit in trailers because they're over capacity).

They need to up the bus driver pay, de-stigmatize the position with people who are getting more than fair compensation so they can be proud of their work and a community member who very much actually, physically, is in the world of the growing citizens. Have an assistant who helps with the route and manages the adolescent children (bus shit was wild back in my day, like 3rd base shenanigans going on and I doubt it's stopped).

I guarantee you, no one having to drive through that shit-storm is enjoying or wanting that experience. Everyone's anxiety is high and they're still half asleep in the morning, with the potential to accidentally injure a child before you even get to work. Some of the counties have improved with better traffic techniques like time-regulated flow, roundabouts, and traffic assistants. But, it's still so depressing and makes you feel like you're in some industrial meat processing plant line.

It sucks either way. Having your kid get home at 6pm to start on homework (no internet on the bus, most assignments require connectivity) which can take hours, feed them, make sure they get ready for bed by 8-9, then start again at 5am because the bus shows up ass early before the world wakes up. Real public transit doesn't exist in a 80 mile radius around here, so there's really no other currently available options besides all the crappy scenarios being told that everyone rightfully hates.

jesus, I was hoping for some well thought-out brilliantly hidden metaphor that would help illuminate others understanding of something. This story is just pure bull-shit like an elon musk fanboy literature night.

  • The villagers don't know or can't see the smoke from the fire but must "trust the king" (not how wildfires work, you've made a boogeyman).

  • No one but the kings soldiers are "solving" the problem? Bullshit, it would take the entire kingdom of support to save it.

  • A few villagers will die from the fire the kingdom sets, but it's necessary for the greater good. WTF kinda dystopian bullshit is this? There's no way to inform your citizens of the impending doom?!?

  • "he’d be damned if he was gonna sit on his throne and watch the fire swallow up his whole kingdom". Maybe that's the problem with your entire story. Person is ruling from the throne and not trusted or respected by his community enough to care about a problem they're being presented. The people wouldn't trust his actions because there will be no compensation or reflection for his decisions that effect their life, "well it was for the greater good, so be happy peasant".

A bowling ball. Can change some of the script so he catches it before it rolls off the raft but he falls in the water with it. He's too heavy and weak to make it back to the raft so he has to let go and watch it immediately sink or he's taken under too (also a good reference how it's hard to save someone from drowning when you're near drowning yourself). Definitely thought of a dildo first till I saw everyone else put it up though.

I had to look into it because all I was finding was still images or articles that talked about it but didn't have any pictures of it once you clicked into it. It's unfortunately real, this vid has a segment with Rachel Maddow and Jacob Soboroff at the RNC convention last month (where this took place) talking about it and showing them.

That video clip was the only thing I could find and it's on a horrible website, I don't suggest going beyond looking at that video. I spent the past hour trying to find the segment on another site but no one seems to have it (if someone finds the same segment let me know so I can update the link and remove the other one).

Almost 10 comments in this thread and near 400 words from you without one single explanation of WHY Mark Kelly is a bad choice. You're one example of why voters are so uninformed, you would rather argue than present anything credible for others to learn.

Do you feel better that the NSA is spying on Canadians while Canadians spy on US citizens and the two countries exchange what they have on each other’s citizens?

but then,

do we need another traitor to hand over classified data to foreign adversaries to make you aware of it?

Government doing it in secret vs a citizen exposing it? I'm going to back my fellow citizen in this one.

This is happening because it’s the job of the NSA to gather data for intelligence purposes. They will sponge up any data they can legally obtain. And if you agree to data being shared with third parties, you’ve agreed that the data can be shared with the NSA. So it is.

That's some serious bootlicking there, you think they're only collecting "legally" obtained information? Let's also gloss over the anti-consumer practices that companies employ to obtain that sweet third party data on you.

"you’ve agreed that the data can be shared with the NSA. So it is." - JFC you have some weird logic going on in your head. Let's just forget what's required in today's society, the data that has to be shared to perform basic functions like employment now adays. The average citizen is not a privacy expert and no one is educated in K-12 to be consensual informed.
