I'm calling it now so I can link to it in 3 years, Musk is wanting to make a presidential run.

like @[email protected] said, this show has a purpose and I think Trump is planning on going even harder and now they have someone they can pass the torch off to since they've already vetted his ideology and love his money. Gotta distance yourself at some point so you can swing in and be the "savior". He can lay the whole DOGE think on the current administration getting in the way and will totally be a conservative this time. The comments and rhetoric around Elon are already starting to be softer now that he's in this feud with Trump.

That's why I never believed in the rhetoric of "it's too late to consider 3rd party!" before the elections. Here it is just 6 months later and "we don't have time for that". Is it disingenuous then to just say there will never be time for that, like it is being implied here?

edit: just saw your other comments, I hope your DNC-tea party plan works with some effect. It's harder for those who have voted for decades for a party that just isn't responsive to the citizens so we'll see I suppose.

The only reason this is even a case is because of the National elections and Trump's actions that he was held unaccountable for apparently.

The changes in North Carolina were among the most extensive state voting reforms passed last year and continue a trend among Republican state legislatures, many of which have passed laws since 2021 adding new voting restrictions. The laws were pushed through after former President Donald Trump began falsely claiming that widespread fraud cost him reelection, claims that have resonated with many Republicans.

Democrats in North Carolina and elsewhere have criticized many of the new laws as attacks on voting rights that often target minority and low-income voters. North Carolina’s changes in 2023 were pushed through without any Democratic support by Republican lawmakers who hold a super-majority in the legislature. They overrode a veto by Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, whose final term ends this year. (link)

If Trump had been held liable for election interference /fraud / misinformation, you wouldn't have people down ballot having the courage to be so shady. If the Democrats actually tried relinquishing some of their control over elections, we might have a system that was fair and honored the citizens participating (they do very little in the way of FPTP problems like informing their base and usually step in to stop changes)

It's crazy how lazy these companies are trying to be about VR. Imagine nintendo or Sega launching a console without any studios or titles. Everyone is so fucking busy with trying to hit the next "tech boom" that they feel it's everyone else's problem to come up with actual use cases that people will stick with (wearing a clunky headset for extra monitors isn't a long-term solution).

I'm tired of watching these multi-billion dollar VR companies showing ping-pong demo's, real actual fucking ping-pong is 100x fucking more fun and it's never brought up. Would love to watch an actual demo with two people playing vr and two people playing real table tennis side by side for an actual comparison. (for anyone saying how much easier it is to play in VR, you just spent $3500 for ONE headset)

Also, I don’t have a dream girl. I find the concept repulsing

proceeds to list paragraphs of demands that a woman must meet to be considered.

Good luck with all that man, I hope you can look back at this comment one day and realize how unbelievably picky you are. A partner isn't a pokemon, they're allowed to have a life while still loving and sharing a home with you.

lol and here I thought that comment was absolutely ludicrous.

“Let’s make this Black spouse somebody who has a really close relationship with another Brady, and that’s how this Brady met them. Give them a foundation so this isn’t a token position.”

You do realize why this is racist right? It's a natural progression to age and begin dating, I doubt they're doing similar back stories for every single Brady. To single out that a white/black relationship requires a precursor of events to be acceptable is just hidden/sly cultural bigotry. It might be easier to swallow for the older viewers of the show (who again, are being racist here), but I've seen these reboots trying to cater to younger audiences who will give them that social hype.

Yeah, but it's not Youtube making the content I guess is my problem. Everyone is mostly here because of all the Reddit crap, doing the EXACT same thing google did to videos with youtube. No one here is completely fine with a "Reddit Premium Account!"^tm^ I patron a few creators so I help with what I can, I will not join the youtube "member" additional fee. I also have been trying to branch out to creators that upload to multiple sites, it can be a little bit of a pain like figuring out Lemmy and how everything works but obviously it's better than sticking with a company gouging and controlling content on their platform for profit.

A bowling ball. Can change some of the script so he catches it before it rolls off the raft but he falls in the water with it. He's too heavy and weak to make it back to the raft so he has to let go and watch it immediately sink or he's taken under too (also a good reference how it's hard to save someone from drowning when you're near drowning yourself). Definitely thought of a dildo first till I saw everyone else put it up though.

I'm assuming the hand in the pocket is a regulated stance or at least is a pretty common pose to take. Makes me wonder what the most absurd item someone had in there pocket during an olympic event is.

You do realize you don't "own" anything on Steam right? Every dollar you give them is towards a "subscription" to play the game.

lol you're like the perfect Lemmy parody at this point. Even got some name calling in because I have an account on .ml? You're a child.

For anyone else, lets go to the DNC's responses when questioned on whether their elections are fair and balanced

we could have voluntarily decided that, Look, we’re gonna go into back rooms like they used to and smoke cigars and pick the candidate that way. That’s not the way it was done. But they could have. And that would have also been their right… - DNC attorney Bruce Spiva. DNC lawyers have argued and continue to argue that the Democratic Party doesn’t owe anyone a fair process. It has every right to disregard its own rules or interpret its rules how it wants because it is a private organization

Bruce Spiva, representing the DNC, made the argument that would eventually carry the day: … as he explained how the DNC worked, Spiva made a hypothetical argument that the party wasn’t really bound by the votes cast in primaries or caucuses. “The party has the freedom of association to decide how it’s gonna select its representatives to the convention and to the state party,” said Spiva. “Even to define what constitutes evenhandedness and impartiality really would already drag the court well into a political question and a question of how the party runs its own affairs. The party could have favored a candidate. I’ll put it that way.”
