Yeah and it doesn’t help when the new (as of ~2 years ago) dev ops lead is an “AI first” type. I get all that but like 4 years in, tell us to get fucked “your fields are remaining forever collapsed”. 8 god damn years the initial confluence ticket was open.

I came across it while setting up a wiki page last night, there were people who had been monitoring it for years. Some real “abandon hope all ye who enter” type shit.

Yeah give me an hour or two with the documentation and I could write COBOL, look out IBM stocks! Will it be elegant or even coherent COBOL? No. Will it at least not contain heaps of in-built time bombs in the form of bugs and security flaws? Also no, but I could write it. As the other commenter said, fuck with the COBOL wizards at your own peril.

Problem is people like OP is referring don’t stay at shelters long as they generally require you don’t drink/do drugs/keep your area clean. A good portion of the homeless population aren’t just “down on their luck” they’re long term homeless/unemployed due to undiagnosed mental illness and substance dependence. There’s also a subset of them who are frequently belligerent so you’d need staff able to work around people like this, pay them adequately for doing so and pay for security. It’s usually not that simple an issue to address as anyone who’s been around homeless areas can tell you.

What a bizarre headline to come out days after it’s revealed Meta has been snooping on supposedly encrypted chats.

One of these can just be solved with a mailbox rule within the email client itself for what it’s worth. Make a rule that’s based on keywords in the subject line and have them moved into a folder that you clear out every couple of months. Downside is the email client need to be running/opened for it to process them.

Yeah, I thought some degree of English aptitude would be required for citizenship/visas. Though it does also state he wrote in correspondence so could be just an attempt to curry leniency.

Granted but Sea of Trolls style. Birds never shut the fuck up and constantly annoy you with their inane conversations.

Tbh kinda appreciate the response not being typical AI sycophant mode.

Looks interesting, was AI used in any of this?

Whatever this image is meant to be aside. As someone who relies heavily on captions, anyone who uses this shitty, engagement baiting form of “captioning” can go step on an entire bucket of legos.
