well, if they’re shifting the definition of “conservative” to what others call a “domestic terrorist who made death threats against the President and then had a shootout with the FBI rather than surrender,” then yeah, those people should watch out.

We're restarting the Friday Advice / No Stupid Questions (NSQ) Post after a break.

This is part of a weekly series of Plex Advice threads for novices and pros alike to ask questions, give advice, troubleshoot, and share knowledge and resources! Please be polite and helpful to beginners just getting started out, and we want to be as welcoming as we can to newcomers to this community.

Common subjects can include:

  • Simple Plex Media Server setup
  • System requirements and advice buying components
  • Advice choosing the operating system that's right for you
    • Getting started with a new operating system (eg. Linux)
  • Advanced setup and configuration
  • Help with PMS add-ons:
    • Docker
    • VPN advice
    • Setup / configuration of the *arr family of apps (Sonarr, Radarr, etc.)

Anyone who posts good starter guides, FAQs, and/or wikis may get their links added to the sidebar so the rest of the community can benefit!

Cheers!

"Why won't anyone go to the movies anymore?"

"I don't know! We jacked up the ticket and concession prices so high that it costs $30-$50 to see a movie, the floors are always sticky, and assholes always talk and check their phones through the whole film. what's not to love? and since we only greenlight films that cost $300M+ to make, we have to consider them automatic failures if they don't make $1B at the box office opening weekend! (which we still declare a loss due to embezzling/"Hollywood accounting")"

"obviously! how else will I buy by 100th country estate? let's jack up streaming subscription prices, crack down on piracy, monetize actor images with AI, and refuse to pay our writers a decent wage. what are they gonna do, strike? hahaha!"

who pleaded guilty to assaulting or impeding officers

and how many PoC, who, while doing nothing wrong, got charged with “resisting arrest” got sentenced to 5-10 years while not committing treason...

just because they're fighting over money doesn't mean they suddenly stopped hating minorities.

long story short: a nuke (even many) has only a tiny fraction of the power of a hurricane, so if you nuked a hurricane, not only would it have very little-to-no effect, now you’d have a hurricane full of deadly radiation contaminating everything it came into contact with.

I've been seeing a bunch of posts about Lemmy being smeared on Reddit lately. They must be scared...

How people can choose hate and fear as a form of self-righteousness is the peak of narcissistic self-delusion. There's nothing noble about being a bigot. There's no honor in persecuting innocent people simply for existing. And it's the epitome of cowardice to try to destroy that which you do not understand. These people live in a state of perpetual terror and outrage with regard to the world around them, yet they arrogantly presume to tell everyone else how to live? How dare they.
