If the sites didn't put it all beyond pay walls it might remedy that problem a little bit. Force people to jump through hoops just to read shit journalism and they will do the easier thing: debate headlines.

In fairness OP asked for "smaller films/ stories" and then name dropped probably one of the biggest horror films ever.
Maybe my favorite manga at the moment. Cannot recommend highly enough for anyone looking for a crazy fun dirty comedy.
Ushiro no Shoumen Kamui-san is the one. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting a silly comedy.
