This is the one circumstance in which I'd be proud to be called a Karen.

I can't even imagine how that is your take-away from my comment. If your very conservative family vote 3rd party, they are voting 3rd party. Not for Biden or Trump.

My comment is attempting to point out that 3rd party votes are going to have a consequence.

The thinking is that 3rd party votes will lessen the amount of votes Biden gets, thus allowing Trump to win.

You aren't actually adding a vote to Trump's tally, you are subtracting one from Biden.

Most of the Independents I know skew towards the Republican side anyway, so I'm just a little inclined to think a 3rd party vote will actually subtract from Trump's tally, but I'm just a little old blue lady down in Louisiana, so what do I know?

Your statement "that's your fucking problem to deal with, liberal" tells me you wouldn't vote for Biden even if he gave you another stimulus check. You sound like a staunch Republican to me, you just drew the line at Trump. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if you voted Trump once you're in the ballot box.

Do your thing dude.

My MIL watches Newsmax now, since Trump said Fox was liberal media.

She hasn't heard of a single gaffe Trump has made in his rallies. Hasn't heard of how he said Biden would start WWII, hasn't heard he said he ran against Obama in 2016, hasn't heard about how he accused Nicki Haley of refusing his offer to send 10,000 officers to the Capitol on Jan 6. No reports on how his speeches decend into word salad when he looks away from the teleprompter.

She HAS heard that Biden is doing nothing about the border, but not about Republicans refusing to pass Biden's border bill. She believes Biden is a fascist leading the country into communism, that Trump is a godly man, etc etc etc.

It's so hard to talk with her now. She used to be a far left liberal, burned her bra in the 60s, pushed for women's rights. Then she started watching Fox "News" and got brainwashed.

Some media may be making his idiocy/dementia/whateverthehelliswrongwithhim news, but a large chunk of the country doesn't ever see it.

Media who do report this stuff is preaching to the choir.

I actually agree with you much more than I disagree.

It's part of a family trust, meant to be passed on. Think 150 year old home that hasn't been renovated since the 60s.

It is near a university and has several bedrooms, so it's generating enough income to help pay her rent. It is literally worth more as a rental than a sell. And one day my poor kids will have to deal with this millstone around their necks.

If my MIL did sell, it would probably be torn down and replaced with an apt complex/student housing.

This isn't about being found guilty though, right? This is about determining damages. He might appeal how much he needs to pay, but he's already been found civilly liable.

Not insensitive at all. It isn't worth a lot as far as selling goes, but it does generate good income as a rental.

I actually agree with you, but I'm the DIL, and my husband and MIL agreed on renting.

No, not at all. That's what TWO kids' lives are worth.

And where is it suggested boomers should live? My MIL has a paid-for home, but is now in assisted living. It costs 6K a month, which is eating through her savings at a shocking rate, even though we're paying a portion of her AL rent.

If she had the ability to stay home, you better believe she would, because she can't afford to part with her home.

Perhaps their emotions CHANGE? Humans, regardless of sex or gender, are emotional beings. Estrogen and testosterone have an effect on emotions, but one does not cause less emotions, just different emotions.
