And have you noticed how whatever God told them is almost always for their own personal benefit? It's almost never to give away or sell everything they own and distribute it to the poor.

It's almost like they are thinking these things up all on their own, lol.

One of my DILs is a woman of color. She was in so much pain but got turned away from two emergency rooms because they labeled her as seeking opioids. Luckily we were able to drive her to a hospital in a nearby town that took her seriously. She had an ovarian torsion. It was quite serious and getting worse by the minute. Thank God for the ER doc at that hospital, who happened to be a woman of color herself.

Off the main topic, but those insurance companies, fuck those people. My doctor is having so much trouble getting a pre-authorization for a medication that I truly need. We've been going in circles for weeks. I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the cheaper meds and they still want me to rule those out first. Maybe it's just me, but I don't like it when my throat swells shut.

Every time my Drs office calls them, it's like we are starting over from scratch.

I honestly don't know how those people sleep at night.

He absolutely has read his Bible. He has said the Bible is his worldview. He believes that his interpretation of the Bible is the only correct interpretation and he will never compromise on that, because he is a "true believer".

Moses spoke directly to God and told everyone else what God had said...and Johnson seems to follow that pattern exactly. He thinks God raised him up to "part the sea" between the Biblical Republic sect from the more middle of the road Republicans and of course from the sinful Democrats. He truly wants to use his beliefs to reform our society; he is a religious zealot.

That has made him much more dangerous to the US than Trump.

I mean, it's in the article. This pregnancy, which will not survive, has a significant chance of destroying any chance that she can ever carry another pregnancy if allowed to come to term.

To preserve her ability to carry another healthy pregnancy to term, this one must be terminated.

Doctors do things every day to prevent serious harm later and this should not be a situation that demands a woman and her doctor to freaking BEG a judge for permission to be able to follow the medical recommendation.

Texas judge grants permission for woman to access healthcare.

That's what really happened.

There was a 16 or 17 year old guy on Reddit (at least I think it was Reddit) years ago--7 or 8 years ago--whose tinnitus was so loud and screechy that he could not sleep, could barely make out what people were saying when they talked to him, couldn't even enjoy music anymore.

He made a post about how he was seriously considering ending his life. I think about that kid all the time.

I have tinnitus, but it's quite mild and really hasn't had any effect on my life. But people like that young man, it steals their ability to interact with the world and they get more and more isolated.

A cure would be awesome.

Gotcha and totally agree. I'm sorry I misunderstood your point.

We need to quit judging women on their looks. Judge her on her policies.

How about bone broth?

My 95 year old mom lives in an assisted living facility. She's in a 1 bed, 2 bath apt with a kitchen and living area. Her utilities and meals are paid for. Her rent is over $6k a month, and she's still fairly independent. She's in her right mind--no dementia at all. She can bathe and dress herself, get herself to the bathroom, get herself into and out of bed, can walk without assistance and handles her own meds.

Once she needs assistance with any of the above, her rent goes up by $1k a month.

She just got a complete health workup, and they gave her a life prediction of 10 years. (Her mom and aunts/uncles all lived to be at least 104.)

Luckily, my dad left her with a sizable amount of money and income from SS and some annuities, but if she does live 10 more years, those annuities will be depleted and so will her savings. She will not be able to afford to stay; SS will never cover her rent.

It keeps me up at night. We are already paying for half my MIL's assisted living. How will we ever afford to help both?

It's terrible to find yourself hoping your mom doesn't outlive her money.

There's plenty we can do. Don't give your money/tithes to churches who support Christian nationalism. Don't attend those churches. Call out their false beliefs. Don't vote for people who support Christian nationalism. Get it through the minds of Christians that their personal religious beliefs don't get to be used to control the rest of the population.

If y'all sit on your asses waiting for the 2nd coming (something that was supposed to happen before Jesus' contemporary generation died) then YOU are the problem.

The bats would miss them.

Any change to the biodiversity on our planet will have a negative effect. What is a pest to you is food for another species, or a pollinator, or any of dozens of valuable purposes.
