I've been looking at the Retroid P6 as my next purchase so come back and tell us how it is when you finally get your hands on it.
Miyoo Flip v2
This is my favourite design but I've already had to fix the hinge once... and this is the revised version to improve on the original! Also the thumbsticks are awful so I avoid using them whenever I can.
Gameplay wise it runs up to PX1/N64 great but then stuff like Dreamcast and PSP are "playable" but not ideal. That's to be expected though.
Anbernic RG35XXH
This was my second handheld and there is a definite theme going on here :D I mostly played GBA games on this at first but because the tumbsticks are far better than the Flip it is now the most used console. It also plays up to PS1/N64 games but, last time I tried, anything more does run but is mostly unplayable.
Porco Rosso is my favourite so I recommend that next if you havent seen it :)
Heat (1995)
It was just one of those movies that for some reason I'd never watched until about 6 months ago. I heard it was great and ,as it turns out, it certainly is.
The alternative frontends need to be added to a Lemmy server by the admins so not everywhere has them. Lemmy.world has quite a few though which are listed in the sidebar.

I don't even bother with most apps anymore unless I have to. I use the Photon UI, so https://p.lazysoci.al/ or https://photon.lemmy.world/
Final Fantasy VII
I was testing out something on my Miyo Flip handheld and started playing FFVII for the first time. Never played it before and so far there have been a few questionable moments but overall I'm enjoying it. Hardware wise it works great but I did have to ask my wife for some help with the story already and unsuprisingly she knew exactly what to do but wants me to play FFIX instead.

I'll pair your cosy dog with our sleepy dog :D

That's a fair point. I feel that PC gaming was in a peak of consumerism with ridiculous prices and never ending "upgrades" so it'll be interesting to see if anything changes. I hope it does and some of that knowledge/skill and enthusiasm for optimisation comes back.
Masters of Albion comes out this year, and quite soon, on 22nd April, and seeks to give us a dose of Dungeon Keeper, Black & White and Fable all in one.
Honestly it sounds and looks great but no way am I buying an early access Molyneux game!

If I didn't already have the Flip I would probably get the Mini Plus.
