Welp. Three days later and I’ve worked with a Rivage PM5 and a RPio rack. That thing is awesome. The preamps sound much more musical. These guys were driving them hard and they saturate instead of clip. The silk is really cool and I had no idea that there are Bricasti reverbs built in. But most of all I like the layout and how the channel strips are more conventional.
Honestly im not a fan of the CL. At least not for music. Its not very fast. Theres lots of digging around for stuff. Theres no compensation for latency, so you have to make a clean/wet bus if you are doing those things and be careful with effects. Its like a church or theater console to me. But i work on them a lot too lol. Id really like to try a rivage though. Havent seen them on any tours yet but have heard the sound and preamps are way better. It might have been Rupert Neves last design? I dunno.

Sorry if this isnt the place for this but wanted to contribute to the instance.
Drums not finished yet. Need a 6 lug hoop for the tom I used. Gonna fiberglass the drum in place once i have holes drilled for the hoop and gonna try and fashion something neat for the pedals to clamp on to.
Havent decided on whether to cut a port in the back yet but imagine it will need it for micing. If anybody has built one and has some advice re: port or Kickport or something like that Ill take it!
Havent heard motorheads before. Thats funny.
