I'm seeing posts that says they have 13 comments and I can see zero of them... and this is on the same instance.

Racist past... racist present... racist, fascist, grifting POS is always going to be a racist fascist grifting POS... His name should be Forage... because he's always foraging for bribes and cash to line his own pockets.

It's going to be a miserable and weepy end to the week. Tomorrow we have to say goodbye to a very good boy, the bestest of good boys. He's 13yrs old, his hips have gone and he can barely stand now, he's got cataracts and pancreatitis. He's in constant pain and his legs can give out at random, and you hear him wince in pain every time he lays down. We've even had to start feeding him by hand as he's laying down. He's lost a lot of muscle mass over the last 6 months too, and we've tried everything the vets have suggested to make him comfortable and ease the pain. Pain killers, steroids, special food and so forth... But it's time to ease his suffering and we've been agonising over the decision for weeks now.

The vet is going to come to the house and do it, less stress for our boy and he can be on his comfy bed, surround by his toys and us... and as he's not been allowed any treats for ages due to the pancreatitis and some very boring foods... His breakfast tomorrow is going to be fit for a king, I made a beef stock from some huge beef bones I got from the butchers. That's going to make a thick gravy to go with some steak and veggies.... and I've bought the best treats I can for him.

I was there Gandalf, 3000 years ago at the beginning of the internet, when the words tubgirl and goatse were uttered in hushed tones. I was there when the will of man failed.

He's what the world needs more of, a person who's not a racist, fascist loving piece of shit like most politicians are... like the UK currently has too much of, we need more left leaning people in power instead of the wankers we have who are in the pockets of corporations and serve their interests. We needs les of the bigoted pieces of shit grifters like reform, tory and labour and their flag shagging racist supporters.

Too many people just don't give a fuck about who they elect and follow along like good little sheep to whoever makes the most noise about the current divisive trend (trans and immigrants at the moment).

Racists suspend 4 bigots after arguments break out over who's the biggest bigoted bully of them all.

Manchester police currently have a higher body count than the actual attacker with 2 dead to his 1... and for the bigots out there who love to scream 'facts, figures and statistics' to support their xenophobia...

MANCHESTER POLICE KILLED 100% MORE PEOPLE THAN THE TERRORIST DID!!! :)

A bit meh... weather has been absolute dogshit all week... The wind and rain have started causing my early onset arthritis to play up and I've been struggling as a result to crack on with some DIY jobs I needed to finish. Then errands, running my elderly mum about for appointments because she decided to schedule appts in the same fucking place on 2 different fucking days... AAARRRGGGHHH!!! Then wanted me to take her to meet my sister on Friday 30 miles away.

However... here's the upsides.

My step-niece had her 2nd child and 2nd boy. Finally finished the prep on the bedroom on Thurs evening, plasterer starts Monday... so painting should commence end of next week. I went out for brunch on Tues & Weds whilst waiting for her to finish her appointments... woohoo, 2 cooked brekkies in a row. I was able to sort out lifts for her for Thurs, so I didn't have to interrupt my work yet again because she expects me to drop everything at her command (I don't). Dropped her off to go to the cinema with my sister to see some Downton Abbey movie, and I went and got a nice coffee and some cake.

Came back home and played Cyberpunk 2077 for a few hrs this afternoon until my partner got home.

We're now about to have an early night ;) and watch a little netflix... probably chill.

If it's not compatible with home assistant it's worthless junk. If it requires their app to function, it's worthless junk... you are buying a product that can be rendered a brick at any point, and there are literally hundreds of examples of companies doing exactly this.

Stop buying them, unless you own them and control them.

Getting more pissed of as it goes on.

Started fine, Went for a nice 15 mile bike ride on Sunday

Went out for a walk along the sea front on Monday and then did some DIY in the afternoon, gutting a bedroom, pulling plasterboard of 2 walls to put acoustic insulation in, and reboard a textured artex ceiling.

Tuesday, spent the morning unable to see or breathe due to the effects of the dust on Monday, struggled with some work in the morning... So went back to the sea for a walk at lunchtime to clear my head, nose and eyes, had a nice lunch and picked up some cakes for us both for supper that night.

Weds... sat around all day doing some work and waiting for a delivery... Delivery never arrived.

Thurs have spent half the morning dealing with company I ordered insulation from, that wasn't delivered for the 2nd time... they promised the 19th, then the 24th... Now say they can deliver next week... in OCTOBER!!! Told them I needed it by Friday because they're costing me time and money... the fuckers decided to cancel the order entirely and said they'd refund. Meanwhile, I needed that to finish the prep for the room as the plasterer was due to start on Monday... So now I've had to order the insulation elsewhere, who say 48hrs DPD delivery (should have go to them first) and am actually saving some money as there was a 20% off voucher available. Ordered some expanding foam, gun & cleaner to do all of the gaps around the door frame and studwork, as well as some gaps around the edges of floorboards on external walls (can feel a slight draught where joists sit in the walls and have breached the cavity a little).

So I've been getting more and more annoyed as the week went on.

So this afternoon, I went for another 15 mile bike ride to the coast and sat on a bench overlooking the estuary, listening to the birds squawking and flying around, the occasional light aircraft or helicopter from the small airfield about 15 miles away and the countless doggo's who came to say hello as their owners took them for walks down to the forest a mile down the path.

I finally started to feel a little calmer and relaxed... Which is the entire reason I moved from a city to be near the sea and mountains to begin with.... serenity now!!!

Plasterer called back, and can reschedule for next Friday to board and do the ceiling, and pop back the following Monday to skim the walls... insulation scheduled for a 29-30th delivery, which gives me two days to install it... and I can do it in a few hrs.

Looking after my sisters elderly dog for the week, he's 13 and has some bad arthritis and pancreatitis. So he has to be monitored and fed a specific diet to try and avoid flare ups, he's on B12, steroids and pain killer meds too... and drinks a lot of water.

But a flare up we had this afternoon, he also a poop walker... literally walks and poops at the same time, which is bad enough when it's normal poop... but when it's runny yellow poop... at least it's easy to spot across the deck, the paving and lawn.

I also caught him drinking water from a dirty plant pot in the garden... which might explain the flare up... and why he refused to go out for a walk at all today. He's feeling rough.

Sadly, it also means we have to almost starve him for 18-24hrs, aside from something to take the tablets with. So this evenings meal was a spoonful of rice and boiled egg and his meds... rather than his normal special food... When he has a flare up, it's starve for 2-3 meals (he's on 3 small portions a day now) then some chicken, rice and cooked veggies for 1 day, then slowly mix in some of his normal food with the rest.

Aside from dog sitting, ripping apart a bedroom, wallpaper came off today... thursday start removing the plasterboard on 2 internal walls so I can move some electrics about and add new sockets, as well as TV/Satellite/Ethernet ports in the corner, then put some acoustic insulation in the walls before getting them boarded and skimmed ready for paint and carpet.

I also did the skirting in the hallway, so that's another DIY job down and once painted... another room finished... only 3 more to go (guest bedroom, lounge & dining rooms)

Working class implies the vast majority of people in the country... CHAV is a specific set of male violent thugs, so whilst it is a slur... it's wrong to imply it describes ALL working class people, when the majority of them aren't scummy violent thugs.

E-Bike Rides (feddit.uk)

Guess I should say hello and post a couple of pics.

Bought my first e-bike a few years ago after struggling to ride a normal lightweight hybrid mountain/city bike. Old football and work injuries mean that as I head into middle age... my knee & ankle (on opposite legs) are becoming an issue, as is a spinal compression issue.

So I bought a cheapish halfrauds ebike, that I had to return as it failed after 250 miles, the replacement failed after 261 miles... So it was returned for a refund... that halfrauds fought all the way and tried every dirty, underhand trick they could... the outright lied to my credit card company... who thankfully saw through their bullshit and refunded me.

So I bought a Haibike trekking with the Bosch mid drive system, a 75nm motor and 500wh battery. It's good for 70 miles in eco mode and occasional battery off mode, but in reality because of hills and open countryside with strong headwinds... 50 miles is my avg as I need level 2 assist into strong headwinds some days, but the return journy can often be done on eco or battery off mode for a good section.

I guess I average somewhere in the 1.5 to 2.2% battery for each mile ridden.

Today, I used 22% battery for a 10.5 mile ride due to extra strong winds when I reach the countryside.

I avg about 10-12 miles per ride, the longest ride I've ever done was 27 miles... which was due to me leaving my phone behind on a bench and on realising when I stopped to take a pic of some nesting swans about 6 miles closer to home. 🤦‍♂️

I've done a few changes to the bike, riser on the handlebars to give me a more upright riding position to help my back stay straighter. Pannier bags, and a more comfortable seat and sprung seat stem.

I don't get out as often as I like, I prefer dry riding and around where I live there's not a great deal of acceptable cycling routes, unless you want very narrow, twisty and hilly back roads that can be quite unsafe for bikes. There's only two real routes I can take, one gives me a loop of about 9 miles around a reservoir and back through some woodland, the other a nice 9 mile ride out to an estuary and a large forest, where a further 2 miles down some gravel fire roads through it, brings you out at the beaches near a light house. Going that far is a 22 mile round trip, so I can't do it often and I need some better tires on this bike before I attempt it again as mine are road tires at the moment.

I do about 30-40 miles a week on it, less in the winter as both routes can be susceptible to flooding.

I can't fit a bike rack to my current car, I'd need to fit a towbar and hang one on that, and the bikes are far too heavy to put on a roof rack (about 30kg). So I can't take advantage of other routes in the area... But when I replace my old car next year, I'm looking for something I can use to transport my bike to a more suitable starting position.
